Hi Destiny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was pursuing my passion in beauty. My passion for eyelash extensions is seeing the transformation in my clients appearance & I love the joy it brings to them. Applying eyelash extensions requires skill & precision, allowing for expression & creativity & that is what I strive to achieve every single time a client is in my studio!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m really proud of the person I’ve become today, I am the only child in my family that has gone to a trade school & I’ve learning everything that I know on my own & I continue to do so. I had a friend that I would get my eyelashes done from & she was teaching lashes while I was in beauty school. I thought why not expand my skills & explore the beauty industry. Once I got my hands on training with eyelash extensions I instantly fell in love with it. It definitely was hard & there was times I wanted to give up & times I thought lash extensions wasn’t for me but I pushed myself & reminded myself that practice makes perfect. I started lashing from home part time until I was able to go full time. I prayed for a studio one day because I wanted to look & sound more professional on social media & God gave me what I asked for 3 years later. I’m always grateful & thankful for all that I’ve been through to get where I am today & it doesn’t stop here !
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver is vibrant & diverse city known for its stunning natural surroundings & outdoor recreational activities. I’d definitely take them for a Mountain View! There’s numerous trails to hike & picnicking. Maybe even a baseball game in the middle of downtown Denver where there are great restaurants & views!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family & most importantly my boyfriend Jimmy. He has pushed me to continue what I love to do when there’s times I’ve wanted to give up because having your own business is not as easy as it seems but it takes a strong passionate person to continue & reach for their goals
