We had the good fortune of connecting with Dhaisy Vue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dhaisy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, I did not ever think I would be an entrepreneur at any point in my life until I became an Esthetician. I joined this industry because I was passionate about makeup and self care. Once I went through esthetics school, I felt like I found my purpose. As I became more confident in my skills and who I was, I realized that this is what I was meant to do all along. I was meant to work hard towards my goals and share my love of beauty at the same time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Self love is a big part of this journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my insecurities as a human and I wouldn’t be here without my huge passion for beauty. Meeting me today, you wouldn’t believe that in middle school I was voted “Quietest Person In The Class”… the WHOLE 7th grade class. After that, I decided that I didn’t want to be quiet and shy anymore. Although I struggled with insecurities growing up, I used makeup and beauty to make me feel more confident. In the end I became stronger and overflowing with self love. Ultimately I learned to love myself regardless of what others think and I want others to know that insecurities are something you can overcome and learn to embrace.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver is a busy city with lots to do. I love going to brunch in Denver with my friends, going for drinks, or catching a Rockies game with my family. Of course there are so many great views in Colorado, driving around and finding a pretty view is definitely one of my favorite things to do. And because I love food so much, Aurora is a great place for diverse food. I love going to eat at Asian restaurants around Colorado.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Alex Kalwitz. Not only did I rent a townhouse from her while I was going to esthetician school, I worked under her right out of school and she gave me what I needed to succeed and set my career up. As I am starting to mentor and support new estheticians myself, I see how challenging it is to grow your business while trying to help others. It is a big job and responsibility. She gave me the opportunities that I now want to share with other estheticians.
