We had the good fortune of connecting with Nik Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nik, how does your business help the community?
The Medical Edge helps medical, healthcare, and aesthetic providers show up online with clarity, trust, and professionalism. By creating accessible, easy-to-navigate websites and thoughtful digital strategies, we help patients better understand services, connect with the right providers and practices, and feel more confident seeking the right services or treatments.

Our work primarily supports independent practices, helping them reach more patients, improve communication, streamline operations, and spend less time managing technology and more time focused on delivering exceptional care. By providing agency-level design without unnecessary markups, restrictive contracts, or confusing processes, we help strengthen the local businesses and providers that serve our communities.

At its core, our impact is helping providers grow sustainably while making quality care easier for people to find and trust.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart is that we operate as a true partner, not just a service provider. The Medical Edge is a boutique-style business built around personalized service, attention to detail, and long-term relationships. As an independent business owner, I intentionally keep my client roster manageable so I can provide a high-touch, white-glove experience. My clients aren’t routed through account managers or support tickets—they work directly with me. I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and vision, building relationships that often extend well beyond a single website project.

Unlike general web designers or traditional agencies, we combine deep healthcare and aesthetics industry knowledge with agency-level strategy to create digital experiences that are both refined and results-driven.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depending on the season, we’d make a day trip to Breckenridge, Vail, or Aspen. In the winter, that means skiing or snowboarding. In the warmer months, it’s just as enjoyable to walk the towns, grab a coffee, and take in the mountain views.

If they’ve never been to Colorado, a hike in Estes Park is a must. Otherwise, I’d probably take them somewhere like Brainard Lake or Blue Lakes Trail., which are some of my favorite hikes.

Closer to home, we’d spend a day in Boulder walking Pearl Street, grabbing coffee, and driving up Flagstaff Mountain to Lost Gulch Overlook around sunset. We’d also spend some time exploring Golden and catch a concert at Red Rocks if the timing worked out. Even if there’s no show, it’s one of those places everyone should see at least once. They allow visitors throughout the day.

For food, some of my favorite spots are Guard and Grace, Kumoya, Kawa Ni, and Alma Fonda Fina for a nicer dinner. For something more casual, I’d take them to Leven Deli, Cart-Driver, Bartaco, Stowaway Kitchen, Happy Camper, or Denver Central Market. We’d definitely stop by Cafe Tres for Cuban pastries, and probably make our way through Moxie Bread, Nowhere Coffee, January Coffee, and Suti throughout the week.

What I love most about Colorado is the variety. You can be hiking a mountain in the morning, exploring a downtown in the afternoon, and watching live music under the stars at Red Rocks that night. It’s hard to beat that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a great deal of credit to the independent providers and small practice owners who took a chance on The Medical Edge in its early days and continue to trust me with their brands, websites, and digital presence. As an independent small business myself, I’ve always believed that great work starts with strong relationships. My goal has never been to simply build websites, but to become a trusted partner who provides both quality work and a true white-glove experience.

The providers I work with have helped shape the business through their trust, referrals, feedback, and continued support. They pushed me to raise my standards, refine my processes, and build a company rooted in service, communication, and long-term relationships rather than transactions.

I’d also like to give a shoutout to my wife, whose encouragement, support, and belief in me have been constant throughout the journey. Building a business comes with its share of challenges and uncertainty, and having someone in your corner every day makes all the difference.
