We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Deuce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, why did you pursue a creative career?
I knew that whatever I pursued in a career, or life in general, it would have to make me happy every single day. I actually wanted to be a barber at first but quickly realized that it wasn’t the perfect fit for me.

Music has always played a huge role in my life and has been my passion since a very young age. I was about 16 years old and began making beats using Garageband on my iPad in the cafeteria every day at lunch. It wasn’t until some friends started freestyling over my beats for the first time that I knew for certain that music production would be my career choice.

Since then, I’ve never looked back because when I wake up every day, I’m doing something that makes me happy. I’ve used this same mentality with everything I choose to do in life so that I can live the happiest way possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I originally started my career by producing music and soon found a passion for audio engineering. When I’m not DJing events, I’m mainly in the studio working on music and developing artists.

What sets me apart from most engineers & DJs is the time & focus that I put into each artist to help them grow in every aspect from the studio to the stage. I got where I am today by that same type of focus and persistence. It wasn’t always easy but I knew I had to stay consistent. I had to spend a lot of time developing my own sound & image as well as building connections & relationships.

A lesson I learned early in my career is that everyone has the potential to grow and improve. It’s amazing what hard work can achieve when you really put your mind to it. What I want the world to know about myself and my brand is that I’m a perfectionist and I give 110% into everything I do. Whether it’s in the studio or on stage, I strive for the best quality possible!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a great question! First thing would be heading from DIA straight to Lookin’ Good Restaurant & Lounge in Denver for some brunch. Then, I’d take them to Main Event Center in Littleton to go bowling and play some laser tag. Then, we’d go hiking at Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods down in the springs. Finally, we’d cruise down Federal Boulevard on the weekend and see if anything’s going on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Most definitely! First of all, I want to shout out my dad. He was a big musical influence in my life and if it weren’t for him, I would not be the musician/performer that I am today. I grew up in a musical family and have been on stage ever since I could remember, so music comes second nature to me.

Second, I got to give a huge shout out to my amazing wife. She inspires me to be the best I can be every single day. She’s been there every step of the way throughout my career and has always had my best interests at heart. It’s truly amazing to have someone like that in my corner.
