We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Giroux Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’ve always been curious, I love researching, exploring new ideas, and thinking about how things can be done better or differently. I think that naturally leads me to take some risks, because I’m always striving to do better, or to be better and progress rarely comes from playing it safe.

I believe that staying in a “comfortable” situation can sometimes mean choosing predictability over possibility. And while that might feel safe in the moment, I’ve learned that “comfort” can quietly hold you back. The older I get, the more I realize I don’t want “safe”—I want passion, excitement, and a sense of purpose in what I do in my day to day.

In 2020 when Covid hit everything kind of slowed down for me. I was working my corporate sales job from home and I was feeling restless and a little lost. I’ve learned by now to trust my intuition when I start feeling that way and dive into it more so I started researching and reading. It mostly started with trying to understand my purpose or what would “light” me up again but it ended up leading to so much more.

I read The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown, and then I read The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton. I discovered Human Design and then started getting really into subconscious reprograming. Studying more about neuroplasticity and how are minds work. and how that effects everything else in your life.

In 2022 I enrolled in aesthetics school and became a licensed holistic/medical esthetician. Now I’m blending my love of skincare, aesthetic treatments, subconscious work and energetics to help people come home to themselves confidently and unapologetically. It’s not just about outer beauty but embodiment and living an aligned magnetic life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a holistic medical esthetician working at Neves Skin Studio here in Greenwood Village, Colorado. I love blending holistic modalities, science backed skincare and treatments along with energetics, to help people not only look and feel like their best self – but realize they have the power within themselves to rewire subconscious limiting beliefs and manifest their dream life.

Re-reading that paragraph it does sound like a “dream”. The funny thing is though, I’m living my dream life right now, I know it’s possible from my lived experience, but I can also tell you my life wasn’t always like this.

From the time we are born we have outside factors shaping our beliefs around money, love, self-worth, even what a happy and successful life should look like on the outside. I think so many of us fall into these roles and stories we tell ourselves about what life “should” look like and play that part until it’s not working for us anymore. A life that might look great on the outside to others, but I know now it’s about how it feels. How you feel about about yourself. Acknowledging your authenticity, self-worth, individuality, and what’s important to you. Living an aligned life that not only “looks good” but it feels good. And the beautiful part is, that’s different for everyone, and you get to decide what that looks like for you. Not the expectations placed on us by our family, our community, higher education.

This also applies to aesthetics and finding out what makes you feel most beautiful. Everyone is so unique and I love that I get to be a part of helping someone look and feel like their best self. That’s the most exciting part of this next chapter for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I first moved to Denver from Wyoming, everything was exciting. And I knew all the best places to eat and hang out! I have to be honest the older I get I love being at home and hosting dinner parties at my home. But outside of that here would be my top activities and places to show a friend when they came to visit:

Alivio Massage Therapy- the best customized massages, authentic lymphatic drainage massages

Tibet Imports- beautiful shop for crystals, handmade mala necklaces and personalized birth chart readings

Ignite Your Aura- Aura photography and readings

Woodhouse Spa Centennial – for manicures and pedicures

Cherry Creek for day shopping and the farmers market on the weekends

Le French DTC Belview Station – best Parisian almond croissants

Le Colonial | French Vietnamese Restaurant – beautiful setting and interior vibes. Amazing food

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think the book The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton deserves this shoutout because reading it literally changed how I think and ultimately changed my whole life. I recommend it to everyone I know.
