We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebs Long and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebs, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I honestly didn’t. I had been working as a bartender for 8 years in Breckenridge and had a degree in Marketing and Management. A friend asked me to help her with weddings one summer and I said yes, just to try something different. After that first wedding, I was hooked. I worked more and more weddings and eventually became partner. Now years later I am the sole owner and just love working in a field that I can be creative and make peoples’ dreams come true!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Distinctive Mountain Events takes every event very personally. This is someone’s wedding day. One of the biggest days in peoples’ lives. We do not take this lightly. We also try to have fun along the way because planning a wedding really should be an enjoyable process. The past 2 years have really shown how much we do love it. The obstacles we had to overcome were not for the faint of heart. From moving entire weddings to a new date, to moving and changing with current restrictions and guidelines, we are happy to say we came out on the other side. Stronger!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Coming to Breckenridge, there are a ton of things to do! First day we would shop Main Street because there are just so many really cute stores to check out. Then we would have dinner at Rootstalk. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Breckenridge. The next day we would get up bright and early to head over to Park County to hike four 14’ers. The only place in Colorado that you can hike four 14’ers in one day. Mt. Democrat, Mt. Cameron, Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Bross. (Mt Cameron technically is not a 14’er but I count it! 🙂 After that we would head back into town to get a massage at Blue Sage Spa. Finish the day with dinner at the Breckenridge Distillery. Another fave. The next day we would take it easy and head up the gondola that is free in the summer. Such a fun experience! At the top we would have a cocktail at Sevens Restaurant. If there is a show that evening, we would go to the River Walk Center to check it out. Final day we would go to Lake Dillon to hang out on a pontoon boat. Such a great way to soak up the sun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my husband Wes. The support he gives me is beyond anything I can put into words.
