We had the good fortune of connecting with Elianna Acevedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elianna, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Succeeding as a curly hair specialist and business owner didn’t happen overnight, but there are a few habits that I believe helped me get here.

First and foremost, staying curious and committed to ongoing education has been key. Our industry is constantly evolving, and I make it a point to regularly attend workshops, conferences, and online courses to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and trends.

Another habit that has served me well is my dedication to listening to and understanding my clients’ unique needs and concerns. Building trust and rapport with my clients is essential, and I strive to create a safe and supportive space for them to express themselves.

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the importance of self-care! As a business owner, it’s easy to get burned out, but I prioritize activities that nourish my mind, body, and soul. I especially enjoying quality time with loved ones and my friends.

By combining these habits, I’ve been able to build a successful business that brings me light and fulfillment every day

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As I look back on my journey as a curly hair specialist, colorist, and business owner, I’m filled with so much gratitude and love. This path hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth it – every struggle, every setback, and every triumph.

What sets me apart is my passion for empowering women to love and celebrate their unique beauty. I believe that every curl, every coil, and every wave tells a story – and I’m honored to be a part of that story.

I’m most proud of creating a safe, welcoming space for my clients – a space where they can let their guard down, be themselves, and leave feeling seen, heard, and loved. I’m also proud of the community we’ve built together – a community that uplifts, supports, and celebrates each other.

My journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but I’ve learned that it’s in those moments of uncertainty and doubt that we discover our greatest strengths. I’ve learned to trust myself, to take risks, and to stay true to my vision – even when the road ahead seems uncertain.

To anyone who’s chasing their dreams, I want to say this: don’t give up. Don’t lose faith. And don’t let anyone dull your sparkle. You are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to – and I believe in you.

As for my brand, I want it to be a reminder that beauty is so much more than just physical appearance. It’s about confidence, self-love, and inner light. It’s about embracing our uniqueness and celebrating our individuality. And it’s about spreading love, kindness, and compassion – one beautiful appointment at a time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m overwhelmed with gratitude as I think about the incredible individuals who have contributed to my journey. This shoutout is dedicated to those who have believed in me, supported me, and helped shape me into the Hairstylist and business owner I am today.

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest love and gratitude to my grandmother, Linda. Though she may be gone, her spirit lives on in my heart, and her unwavering support and encouragement continue to inspire me every day. Grandma Linda, your love was my foundation, my guiding light, and my safe haven. I miss you more than words can express, but I know you’re smiling down on me, proud of the woman I’ve become.

Next, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Shantel Kim, my amazing mentor during my early days (and now) as a young stylist. Shantel, your guidance, expertise, and patience helped shape me into the confident, skilled curly hair specialist I am today. Your influence has had a lasting impact on my career, and I’m forever grateful.

And lastly, to my incredible clients – many of whom have been with me for all 8 amazing years of my journey – I don’t even have words to express my gratitude. Your trust, loyalty, and support mean the world to me. You’ve become more than just clients; you’re my friends, my family, and my biggest cheerleaders. Thank you for believing in me, for allowing me to be a part of your hair journey, and for making every day worthwhile. Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, and gorgeous curls!
