We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisa Malangone PhD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My mediumship and coaching practice uniquely unfolded from divine intervention. When your business is more like a calling, your thought process becomes more of an energetic blueprint one surrenders to more so than a strategy one implements. The Universe is pretty much your co-creative guide to the whole process. I truly believe Spirit was essential in bringing many non supportive circumstances in my life to the light of day which allowed me to realize and partner with my purpose. I remember in those moments of recollection, my gifts of insight, divine connection and inner knowing were truly all I had to assist in transitioning me from where I was to where I truly needed to be. Within weeks of saying yes to that truth, everything from client base to workspace miraculously unfolded. I was eventually able to leave those non-supportive situations and I have been helping others, heal, feel, and partner with their own passions and purpose ever since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My mission statement sums it all up, “THE MATTERS OF YOUR HEART, TRULY MATTER TO MY HEART”. The services I provide are so much more than delivering channeled messages. I offer mediumship and life coaching that Moves, Motivates and Matters. My approach is based on empathy and healing as I work with clients through their grief and pain. It’s humbling and honoring when I am trusted with another soul’s emotions. In addition to my individual services, I passionately offer a community of connection and support for others by way of my “Insights with Elisa” YouTube channel, community calls and up coming podcast.

My gifts were discovered at the early age of 4 in a very unique manner. At 4 months old, my little brother Stephan became mentally handicapped due to brain damage caused by a reaction to his prescribed medication leaving him non-verbal and unable to develop past that age. My parents would begin to notice that I could identify what was needed in his cries and discomfort. One night, I woke up hearing in my head “sissy I’m cold”, so I got out of bed and hurried to the linen closet to grab a blanket for him. I must had been noisy because I was met by my mother in the hallway. I told her that Stephen was cold, and sure enough when we entered his room, it was an ice box due to the heating vents not being reopened after his room was painted. As time moved forward, I would also be able to identify loved ones who had passed away, but telepathic communication with my sweet brother was my first encounter with my gifts. That experience alone, helps me explain communication with embodied spirit very easily in my practice today.

Let’s be real. Little girls generally don’t dream of being a psychic medium when they grow up. My whole life I’ve danced around it by getting my PhD in religious philosophy, getting certified in Reiki, and becoming a certified life coach. It wasn’t until I extricated myself from a toxic relationship, with little money in the bank, that I decided to turn to my gift to be able to provide an emotionally safe and healthy example for my children. It has been a lifelong journey for me of acceptance. I’ve struggled not just with family or friends accepting my gift but self-acceptance too. It has taken me many years to step into my path and own the gifts that I have been given.

An important lesson that I have learned is that, the ability to overcome and preserver is inside everyone of us and often we don’t realize how strong we are until life really challenges us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The city of Denver is rich with culture, connection and deep rooted history. I love hopping on the RTD light rail system or train to Union Station which is an architectural beauty and wonderment all of its own. The energy there is amazing and it’s simply just fun to observe and people watch. You may find that people here have a pretty unique, healthy and happy vibe. We would definitely take in a little shopping at the 16th Street Mall, grab dinner at the Mercury Cafe and then take in a show or ball game. The historic hotels like the Brown Palace and the Oxford are also fun to explore.

Another short day trip I truly love, is to Georgetown. I always enjoy pointing out the paranormal activity around all of that deep Colorado History which adds a new perspective to the adventure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Personal shoutouts go out to my circle of girlfriends who helped me overcome the self-doubt fueled by my fundamentalist upbringing and toxic relationships. Professionally, I must give props to Mile Hi Church of Denver…..while there were many who inspired and mentored, I would like to acknowledge my community, my outstanding business coach Nick Demos and Soul Stamina coach, Anne Ribley.
