We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Bernal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had an entrepreneur spirit from a young age. Wanting to make money and wanting to learn new skills. After high school I moved to California and met my mentor who had a mobile DJ business. Working with him and seeing his success, and lifestyle, I decided to try and copy his recipe.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music is my main medium and it’s so amazingly powerful. Being able to control the feelings and ambience of a room of guests with the selections I choose to play, and how I create am able to also set that mood and feeling up with lighting. It’s an entire experience that I provide through my services. We leave guests wanting more and talking about the event for years to come. Understanding how to create a client’s vision, over delivering and truly wowing them is what sets us apart from our competition. I started DJing in High School and quickly found that my love for music would be my career choice. Although I thought I would be a superstar club DJ, It took many years to discover my gift was entertaining wedding and special event guests. It’s taken almost 26 years to get to where I am now and it’s not always been easy. Learning as I go and teaching myself to wear several hats as a business owner has been the biggest challenge. Surround yourself with a great team, that’s the biggest lesson I have learned.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love all the art and nature that Colorado has to offer. If my friend was to come to town for a week, I would take them to the following places: Broadway – Shop for books, music, antiques, have coffee and explore all the wonderful shops. Rino – Explore the graffiti murals and eat some tasty food. Red Rocks – Check out a show for sure! Conifer – Hike the wonderful trails and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Breckenridge – Snowboarding for the win!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
