Meet Evan Fraser | Musician/Producer in Dirtwire

We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan Fraser and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Being an artist always felt natural. There’ wasn’t ever any doubt about it.
I just always knew. I was very lucky to have such encouragement and support from my family and some really amazing teachers along the way.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We like infusing organic sounds from our own diverse musical instrument collections and drawing on different global music cultures, and blending all of that with electronic beats and bass. The creative process also can happen in all ways with creating a electronic beat, then adding our instruments on top of it.
We take pride in turning our fans on to the magic that has inspired us from different music cultures through our mash ups and production creations.
It’s been quite a road to get where we are now with many beautiful and amazing experiences along the way. Lots of showing up and lots of musical experimentation with gear and cross pollination of cultures and styles.
We’ve learned that its very rewarding to witness the music that you had a hand in creating doing it’s thing out in the world having a positive impact on the people and the planet.
Showing up is not always easy and the road takes its toll but it’s all worth it when you see the smiles on peoples faces and their bodies moving to the vibrations we’re putting out there.
We are excited about creating our own Festival called Dirtfest the first one will be at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Colorado this August 18 and 19th.
We are excited to show our fans and everyone our passion for giving a voice to Nature and lending a hand to land conservation trail preservation, Permaculture and general environmental awareness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Still getting to know the city really,.. would like to know it more.
Cheeseman park is a good scene.. also maybe take them to Meow Wolf blow their minds a bit 😉
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Would like to shout out Mark Growden for introducing me to so many cool instruments and genres . Im grateful for his teaching and for demonstrating that if you have music inside you it can be explored on almost any resonant object you pick up!
