We had the good fortune of connecting with Ezgi Devi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ezgi, what do you attribute your success to?
I can say that the most important factor behind my success is self-awareness. When one knows who they are, and what their strengths and weaknesses are; I believe, it gets easier to decide what to do in life. And this self-awareness brings success naturally.
I intentionally built my brand and business based on the things that I love and I’m good at. Having my own joy and talents as the compass of my business allows me to enjoy my services and offerings, rather than seeing them as something that I have to do to maintain my life. I believe doing what you love and loving what you do is the key to success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a Spiritual Guide, I offer Alternative & Holistic Health Services for individuals to become masters of their lives and consciously manifest health, wealth, and harmony in life. All my services are based on self-empowerment. I assist with helping my clients reach their full potential and create the lives they dream of by understanding themselves and the universe.
It took a long time for me to understand who I am, and what I want to do with my life. I was born and raised in Turkey, and I lived most of my life in Istanbul. My parents are both teachers and as educators in a middle eastern country, they witnessed a lot of suffering caused by the lack of education and scarcity. So they made sure that my brother and I were well educated to have a financially stable life in Turkey. Eventually, I studied management information systems and became a software engineer, financially independent and content. In a very short time, I started taking big steps towards success and achieving my material possession-oriented goals one by one. However, as I started to possess everything that I thought would make my life complete, I started to feel more and more empty inside. I was successful according to society but I couldn’t find happiness. Each day became a fight for me to get out of bed and go on with my life. It wasn’t until I started working on myself spiritually and started to question my career that I was able to take a leap of faith to start living a soulful, meaningful life. My suffering, eventually, forced me to search for the true meaning of life.
First, I became a yoga instructor and started teaching yoga. Then, I gave myself to soul searching and traveled to many countries to work with spiritual masters. For many years, I worked with Alchemy and Reiki masters, Shamans, and Buddhist gurus; and gathered many tools of healing. As I began to heal myself, I became more enthusiastic about teaching and sharing these healing tools with others as well. In time, I began to incorporate my abilities and gifts with ancient healing tools and spiritual treasures that I studied with my masters. In three years, the container of many Alternative & Holistic Health Services I offer became my soul-led business. And my name, Ezgi Devi, became my brand.
In this container of services, I offer mindfulness-based coaching and facilitate sound healing & ecstatic dance events combined with somatic and energy healing (Reiki) principles. Through my courses, blog, and podcast “Taboo Untabooed”, I connect the dots between science and spirituality by helping others understand the main principles of existence.
I am also the founder of the Wise Wild Wombmen community that empowers women globally. This community is built for women from all over the world to play and grow together and is open to everyone who identifies themselves as a female, woman, or any other embodiment of the Divine Feminine. Wise Wild Wombmen is a safe space for all women to open up, connect, share, release, and learn from each other.
And through all my work, I’m hoping to inspire an enhanced education system for youth that promotes authenticity and new sustainable ways of living that suit human nature.
It’s been a long journey from a software engineer to a spiritual guide. I had to peel the deepest layers of myself to remember my truth and my purpose in life. As I evolved, my work and brand have also evolved with me. Today, I’m so proud of my business because; I’m holding space for others where healing takes place naturally through joy, music, conscious movement, and connection. I expand awareness by teaching my community the tools that serve me in my own healing journey. And I can confidently say that my life is the proof of my services. Everything I offer helped me become this fearless, limitless, and abundant woman today and allowed me to create my dream life. And nothing fulfills my soul more than being in service of others and sharing my gifts and wisdom for others to benefit as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver is such a beautiful place surrounded by a magnificent landscape. There are lots of outdoor options. I love grabbing my book and yoga mat and spending some time in nature. Being around the water always gives me so much peace. For that reason, my favorite parks in the city are Washington Park and Sloan’s Lake. For camping, my favorite spots are Chatfield Reservoir and Nederland. If you are visiting the area, I would also highly recommend seeing Isabelle Glacier, Evergreen Lake, and Hanging Lake.
I love treating myself to good food. Although I’m pretty new in Denver, a few restaurants have already stolen my heart. Sushi Den has the most amazing Sushi & Japanese food. For the best Tibetan, Indian, and Nepali cuisine, my recommendation is Sherpa Restaurant. And for healthy and vegan options my first choice is always Watercourse Foods.
Denver is also so rich in the music and art scene. Red Rocks and Meow Wolf are definitely among the must-sees.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As my soul searching began, life has brought amazing companions, masters, and teachers to my path. In my self-realization journey, I’ve always been supported and guided towards bringing my dreams into reality. I would like to shout out to everyone who contributed to my life and helped me realize who I am: my first guru – my therapist-, all my yoga instructors, my Alchemy&Reiki teacher, my Sound Healing teacher, my Shaman masters in Peru, my Buddhist masters in Nepal, and of course, my soul family who always has my back. I am forever grateful for each one of you.
