We had the good fortune of connecting with Farrah Fry-Ettlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Farrah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Endless Pawsibilities Service Dogs is a small nonprofit, founded by a highly educated and experienced dog trainer. Being small allows us to provide a more personal and personalized experience for our applicants. When raising a Service Dog candidate, the puppy lives with a professional trainer, which greatly increases our success rate and allows us to place pups sooner than many larger organizations. As the puppy grows, we see what traits develop to determine what job or applicant could be the best fit. Our applicants are able to participate in the process and help socialize our pups, potentially even meeting and helping out with what may become their future Service Dog! Placing our dogs locally gives us the opportunity to thoroughly vet our applicants and keep up on training as the pair grows as a team.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
We just had a record breaking placement! In December we got an 8 week old Golden puppy, Flurry, that came in to our training program. Flurry has a heart of gold, sweet and intuitive with people, and picked up on training super fast. At just 6 months old, we placed Flurry with a teacher at Aspen Elementary as a Facility Dog. Flurry works in the school helping calm students in distress, eagerly listens to students with challenges read to him, and uplifts spirits as he walks the halls and gives lots of kisses. You’ll definitely want to follow this journey as Flurry helps us build out the Facility Dog program at the Aspen School District!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I gathered knowledge from so many different people and places over 18 years of training, I wish I could give a shoutout to them all! I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without my Search and Rescue K9 partner, Sargent, and all the SAR K9 handlers who taught me how to train, handle, and… “trust your dog!” I got to learn from and work with some of the best K9 handlers around. I will be forever grateful to all of them for their patience, knowledge, and always having my back.

And my German Shepherd, Sargent, taught me how to communicate with dogs and build a beautiful working partnership that nothing can compare to.
