We had the good fortune of connecting with Trent Ryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trent, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We started Steel City Entertainment in the spring of 2019, in the midst of the covid crisis, as a response to the covid crisis. So many events, parties, graduations, proms, etc., were being cancelled and postponed due to lack of mobile entertainment services. Without much thought, we began reaching out to those who were experiencing cancellations and lack of services, and began to offer discounted services in an effort to assist the individuals and families whose events had been affected by the covid crisis. Before we knew it, we began to receive messages and booking from all over in the state. We had dramatically underestimated how many people’s events were truly effected by the covid crisis and the lack of services throughout the state. It was at this point that we adapted, invested, and went all in, taking as many bookings as possible. By the fall of 2019, we had launched a second company, Ark Valley Entertainment, to meet the demand of the lower Arkansas Valley region of southeast Colorado. Flash forward to 2022, we are now launching a third company, Mountain Valley Entertainment, to the meet the need of the mountain valley regions of southern Colorado. We have seen much, admittedly unexpected, success with starting our own business. We were just looking to help the community in a response to covid, and the business blossomed into something we could never have imagined. We couldn’t be more greatful!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Best spots of the city? Definitely downtown! 16th Street Mall, Capital Hill, Market Street, all that! Check out Rhino Arts District and of course a Nuggets game! Ride the train out the Park Meadows and stop off to eat in DTC!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My beautiful wife deserves all the credit and recognition in the world. If not for her support, financial, and personal investment, as well as her dedication the the brand and to our marriage, non of this would be possible. She believed in the vision from the beginning and joined this business venture without hesitation! We have been through many ups and downs through this process and I just want to thank her for everything she had done and for everything that she is!

I would also like to thank all of the past, present, and future clients! We thank you so much for your business! Without all of our beloved clients, we could never have been successful! From the beginning, we have taken pride in our professionalism and hospitality, creating lasting client relationships, referrals, and recommendations. We are happy to provide such a service to our state, and overwhelmed at the lasting impression we have made and the amount of support we have received. The fact that we have now started to launch a third company, still blows my mind…. so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Thirdly, to all the partners that we have worked with through the years! It takes a village, and without the help of many different organizations, businesses, and investors, we could not have accomplished many of the accolades on our resume! The community support we have received, throughout the state, has been phenomenal! Thank you for helping us do what we do!

Last but not least, our employees. We started as a husband and wife team and operated as such for more than a year. We will be forever thankful to the people who trusted in us and our vision, and decided to join our brand! That means to the world to us, and we thank you for you commitment and hard work! Without our employees, we could never have expanded, and could never have seen the level of success we are now! Thank you!
