We had the good fortune of connecting with Felicity Muench and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Felicity, what do you attribute your success to?
I think success is when your vision and the life you lead are in absolute alignment. I genuinely love what I do in life and do not think of what I do as work. Being a classical guitarist and teacher and seeing the impact our nonprofit One Voice 4 Change has had in the world brings me joy every day.
Having a sense of humor, being resilient and responsible, knowing who to take advice from and who to ignore, and having patience, perseverance, and listening skills have been necessary for my success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have faced obstacles and challenges. But, the belief in One Voice 4 Change and the fulfillment we experience knowing that we are making a difference in students’ lives and seeing the impact our work has had so far has allowed us to navigate every problem into a solution. To build on an idea that has never been done takes patience, courage, trust, honesty, vulnerability, adaptability, and communication. Dignity, respect, and integrity are values we uphold. Our team is extraordinary in that we listen to each other, respect differences in opinions, and collaborate to find solutions, always keeping the vision and mission of One Voice 4 Change as our North Star.
Our future depends on our youth being able to contribute their ideas and passions by being supported in every way possible. This means thinking outside the box of institutionalized education. This means collaboration on a global level. This means listening to and empowering their voice.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the Denver Art Museum, Colorado Symphony, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Chautauqua Park, Garden of the Gods, Rocky Mountain National Park, Wildwood Guitars, Denver Botanical Gardens, and the Denver Zoo. We would eat at the Chautauqua Dining Hall, Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant, Tandoori Kitchen, Zucca Italian Ristorante, and Casa Alegre.
We would enjoy walking, and bird watching around Waneka Lake Park, watching the sunset with a glass of wine at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, and start the day with a great cup of coffee at Simpson Coffee House in Lafayette, Colorado.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My life would look very different if not for the support and guidance of those who believed in me.
My collaboration with Dr. Gregg Cannady opened a world of opportunities for me to gain confidence in my voice to begin a new adventure in creating educational opportunities for students globally. Together we started the nonprofit One Voice 4 Change.
