We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandi Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandi, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
If I didn’t take risk, I wouldn’t be here today. I’m still navigating how I approach risk taking, because I still haven’t taken all the risk that I can or should. I do believe betting on yourself is easier said than done, however it has a great return. I’m all about calculated risk, so if makes sense, the only thing in the way is fake fear. If you’re scared of taking risk then you’re scared of business, that’s something you have to get comfortable with or it will hold you and your business back a lot.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My business journey has not been a smooth road. Sometimes having a business is tough building a brand is tough. People who do it go through a lot of things behind the scenes. I’ve wanted to quit so many times, but when you have a vision and are determined it’s not that easy. My resilience has definitely been tested throughout the way personally and professionally. My intention is to create brands that have impact and create change in positive ways. I feel remembering that intention no matter where I go is very important.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver has a lot of secret gems and there’s always something new coming as well. My friends and I like the outdoors so we would be outside hiking or experiencing the nature scene. We also like to try new food places so we probably bounce around the city eating at new places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe even the small things matter and have impacted me and my business. However, besides God, I feel the people who are strangers that have supported me definitely deserve some credit. It’s one thing for your support system or the people who know you to show up for you, but it’s a completely different story when you can connect with strangers, and they support your business. Since starting my business, I have been able to network with amazing people and fellow business owners, that have kept me going.
