We had the good fortune of connecting with Franchesca Padias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Franchesca, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art is such an important part of my life. Art saved me numerous times from many dark places. Growing up it wasn’t easy being impacted by many unpleasant situations so, drawing was my outlet. As I got older I noticed that creativity could go beyond from just a piece of paper. So I started making art on nails creating up dos, and hair styles, I would say small masterpieces in my eyes, and then I became completely inspired by the art of Makeup. I was able to transform myself into different characters and create such beautiful images with just makeup. As time changed so did my creativity, I became more aware of colors, shades and creating looks that better fit my mood or inspiration for that day. Art helps me feel empowered and at times when I wasn’t able to control what was happening around me I was able to control that brush and the colors I added to them. Being creative is who I am and who I want to be in life and inspiring others that have the same passion to never give up because the creativity of art is a gift that should be shared and admired.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This journey hasn’t been easy, but the challenge is well worth fighting for, because I believe that I have something to give and share with the world. Art is who I am and the creativity that I have can inspire others to love who they are regardless of where others might want to place them. As a Puerto Rican plus size woman there were many times when I was placed on the outside of the inner circle because I didn’t meet the standards that society placed upon me. I believe that beauty comes in all different cultures, shapes, colors, and sizes and we need to learn how to embrace the beauty that surrounds us. I am excited to share with the world that we don’t have to meet anyone’s standards and we can walk this path with our heads held high and proud. The art of makeup has inspired me to not allow others to chose my path for me or even mold me into what they believe should be admired or self worth. I didn’t always have this confidence and I still at times fall to my insecurities because I am only human, but as I move closer to my goal and have the opportunity to share my art and love of makeup to inspire others to keep on thriving!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Colorado! I am originally from the East Coast but I fell in love with the mountains and scenery in Colorado. Red Rocks would be my first stop as this magnificent location holds a special place in my heart. 1st because my husband and I eloped at Red Rocks in 2017 and 2nd because we visit every year to see our favorite band The Dirty Heads then head to brunch at Snooze. After, I would love to take a stroll on the streets of Boulder, CO and enjoy all the beauty that the city has to give . Lastly, I would head over for some appetizers and drinks at the Happy Camper and then walk the streets of Downtown Denver.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shout out would go to my 3 beautiful children and my husband. I’ve been through my ups and downs and with all the curve balls life has thrown my way, my family has always supported my dreams and aspirations to start up a YouTube Channel/Social Media Platforms and aspire others with my love of art and makeup. Many times I have been down and out due to my mental health and my family has always encouraged me to keep fighting. They are my biggest cheerleaders and all of them support me on my journey. I couldn’t even imagine walking this path of life and following my ultimate dream with out them by my side. This journey has not been easy to say the least and there were many times when I did give up because I didn’t feel I could reach my goal, and felt discouraged for one reason or another. But my 3 beautiful children Marcos, Brianna, and Yadiel, and my Husband Nicholas fought along side me and never thought less of my passion for art and makeup. My life and my journey is thriving because they have always believed in me and although I still have a lot to do they all trust that I can achieve this DREAM of mine.
