We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabe Kane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabe, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our goal is to positively impact people. Our customers. Our retailers. Our vendors. Our producers. We believe in hemp and use it as a tool to better enjoy our lives. Our approach factors that everyone needs to eat. We make sure everyone involved with our business gets a fair deal; especially consumers. We sell a traditionally luxury product at attainable prices. A portion of our proceeds are used to help local nonprofit businesses. We source as close to home as possible to help our local economy stay strong.

In terms of social impact our biggest goal is to educate people about cannabis, hemp, marijuana; the differences, and how they can be used legally. We set reasonable expectations and fight misinformation. We want athletes, teachers, first responders and anyone curious about hemp to have an honest resource to answer their questions with the best available information.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I wish I knew going into this that the CBD industry was incredibly difficult to succeed in. Everything from banking, credit card processing, insurance and marketing are highly regulated to the point where sometime it feels unfair. There are plenty of companies out there making products. We are doing it the right way.

Our products are tested for more than potency. We make sure they’re safe. Our pricing is fair so everyone can enjoy the benefits of hemp. We use rare parts of the plant like CBN for bedtime and CBG in our topicals to make them more effective. We take a scientific approach to everything we do and won’t make something unless we believe it adds value to the consumer. We want long term support and that means we have to be honest to develop trust with our customers.

I’ve learned that a lot of people don’t follow the rules. They seem to get ahead much faster but as a company we won’t do that. In the long term we know we’re building a foundation for continued success. Growing pains are a real thing. We can’t be experts at everything. But we have had to learn to roll with the punches and that honesty and integrity pay off.

This year our sales are already over 150% of last year’s. And we still have two months left to set a higher benchmark to hit next year. There were times that it seemed impossible. But we somehow manage to pay our bills and continue to grow. It’s hard work. We’re motivated by the consequences of failure. It isn’t an option. There is ALWAYS a way. With that mentality we’ve been able to succeed even at the worst times. Life happens. We can’t predict disasters. We can maintain composure and focus on solutions.

In the past when I focused on problems I only ever made them worse. Long story short I encourage people to be solution oriented and never give in to overwhelming pressure. A wise human said if there is a will there is a way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I take them hiking and or mountain biking every day. Palmer Park is my favorite place to get away while still be in town. It’s huge. The trails are challenging and the views are worth it. And it’s dog friendly so I can bring my puppies.

The Trails End Taproom is a fun place to find friends and enjoy some rewards for energy spent. Selfishly I’d take guests to my building to see what we do and enjoy a coffee roasted locally by Hold Fast Coffee Co.

Cheyenne Canyon is a special place to bring people too. It can be a challenge to get to some of the better view points but they’re always worth it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our retailers deserve a lot of credit. Our company is currently staffed by just two people. Without a network of local businesses to carry and advocate for our products we wouldn’t be here.
