We had the good fortune of connecting with Gavan Archibald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gavan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are a necessary part of life, especially when you is strategic with the risks taken. It is said that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. So if you are not taking risks you are not living life at all. Regarding my career as a DJ, I started out not 100% sure if there would be success since the industry is so competitive and volatile. I am where i am today because i took the steps necessary propel me. Along with my consistency to everyday becoming better at the craft.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Denver based DJ but I’m from the tropical island of Jamaica originally. What sets me apart from other Dj is i consider myself a music enthusiast wit in-depth knowledge of music and the different styles and genres. Being form Jamaica where Reggae bears its origin, I am able to incorporate that vibe in my events to create synergic and environment that will energize the crows and ensure an event to remember.

I got where i am today because of consistency to becoming better each day at the craft, supporting fellow DJ’s/promotors in the industry, and ensure each time i play to make it my aim to bring enjoyment to everyone that listens to my art.

Lessons that I’ve learnt along the way is that everything is about timing, Patience is a must, and what is for you is for you , but it wont always come in the time that you want it but you stay steadfast in your preparation you will be lead to success.

Regarding my brand, i would say to the world that I’m here to spread joy and love through my craft, so prepare to embrace me because I’m not leaving anytime soon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Say my friends came in town for the weekend, Friday I would take to eat at Ocean Prime for dinner, then we would head over to PuttShack for a miniature golf games night. Saturday morning i would take them exploring. So I would take them to either Garden of the Gods, St. Mary’s Glacier, or Bear Lake to show them some of the natural beauties of Colorado . Later in the evening we would go Death & CO to drinks, if there is a Nuggets game we would go watch them win ofcourse. Then we would go clubbing with me at one of the many spots that I DJ at.
