We had the good fortune of connecting with Haley Molitor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haley, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Nature brings me so much joy. I appreciate so many of the small things you discover while out in the forest. I love the sounds of the rain against the tent, the wind in the trees, and the creek flowing over the rocks. I love colors of the vibrant wildflowers and dramatic mountain sunsets. There is so much wonder in nature. There is always somewhere or something new to discover. Nature provides a space to escape to, slow down, and reconnect with yourself and the earth. Spending time in the mountains is a such an important source of inspiration for me and a significant source of happiness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to create jewelry that is inspired by nature. I usually have a specific place or image in my mind that inspires whatever it is that I’m creating. I like using natural materials like semi-precious stones and wood. Because of all the natural variation in these materials, each piece is unique. I think that this makes the creation process even more special. I started Boreas Jewelry as a creative outlet and an excuse to buy pretty beads. It has become something that I truly enjoy putting time and effort into and watching grow. I have grown so much creatively, and I am always learning more about myself in the process.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely spend an afternoon at the Denver Botanic Gardens. After walking around outside, I love to grab an iced coffee and find a shady spot to relax. Don’t forget to check out the tropical observatory and make your way to the top for a lovely view. One of my favorite places to eat is Golden Saigon on Parker Road. Have some pho, Thai iced tea and house-made ginger ale. I always recommend taking a short drive into the mountains and finding a trail. One of my favorite quick hikes with an amazing view is Black Powder Pass, near Como. If you go in late August or early September, you can catch some really beautiful, golden aspens along the road leading to the trailhead. After your hike, celebrate your hard work with a local beer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves a million shoutouts. They have always emphasized the importance of creativity and expression while providing an environment to grow and learn. They are so incredibly supportive. My fiancé also deserves recognition. He is my best cheerleader and stays up late listening to me talk about all my interests and dreams. He also spends days in the forest with me so I can find inspiration and reconnect.
