We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharron Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharron, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been an Entrepreneur since age 10. I created this current business because I enjoy helping others to succeed in business. When I was working I would help people start a business, a homecare business, or give them information on how to market their business. Then in January 2015 the opportunity came for me to leave my great paying job to start my home health & home care consulting business to help others. My business has also allowed me to be home with my son who has autism.
What should our readers know about your business?
I have been a RN for 36 years and in the home health 7 homecare industry for 18 years now. I love and enjoy helping people to succeed and start their own business. I provide my clients with so much information that allows them to pass survey. I’m always receiving emails from clients stating they passed state (CDPHE) survey so they can get their homecare license. As a Christian and believer of the Laws of Attraction, I leaned on my trust and faith in God to be with me every step of the way. My husband has also be my backbone, my support in my business. For me starting this business is like any other business. It was not easy nor was it extremely hard. I knew from experience that starting a business is like birthing a business. You go from infancy to childhood/teenager, to adulthood (maturity of the business). Some people come to me because they have several deficiencies from survey and need someone to help them get out of trouble. They come to me, I assist them, and they contact me to let me know they passed and can keep their licenses. As I continue to grow my business, I learned to start out with a bigger plan to achieve growth, success & prosperity. If you think small, you’ll always be small. You have to think big, plan bigger to achieve your goals in a timely manner. I have been in my business 5.5 years now, and I am proud to let people in the industry know that I am now a certified CHAP & ACHC Consultant. These certifications means that I have the knowledge to provide information to assist them with the home health or homecare needs. I am the only ACHC & CHAP,CDPHE Approved CEU provider in Colorado.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hopefully they would come during the summer so they could enjoy the many outdoor events like the People’s fair (if they have it again), then to the Flea Market, Art Museum, Colorado history Museum, Forney Museum, the Tattered Cover, Coors Field, Pepsi Center, Mile-Hi stadium, and to Applebee’s or Chilis for dinner (I’m allergic to a lot of foods so I eat at places I know I can eat their food without a reaction).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
MY husband! George is the one who told me to start my consulting business after I left my job so he could go market he just published book on the topic of adults with autism.
