We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I decided to start my own business because I wanted the freedom to create something meaningful on my own terms. Working for others left me feeling limited, and I knew I had the passion, creativity, and drive to build something that reflects my values and vision. Starting my own business allows me to take control of my future, use my skills in a way that feels authentic, and create opportunities not just for myself, but for the people I serve.

What should our readers know about your business?
Benny Blanco’s Pizza and Native Salon both began in Denver, and for a long time that city felt like home for our businesses. But deep down, I knew we were being pulled toward something new. Moving everything up to Arvada took a lot of courage—leaving behind the familiar and starting fresh—but it felt like the right step for growth. And now, seeing the way this community has welcomed and supported us, I know we’re exactly where we’re meant to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the mountains. I feel most at peace on the western slope. Everyone that lives up there is so kind and generous.. I think I would spend a week up there and then of course bring them back down for a delicious slice of Benny blancos pizza!
