We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaac Partridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isaac, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I think the most important lesson I have learned from my business is how much connections can change your life. Many people is the phrase that it is “not what you know, but who you know”. I have learned that businesses are people try to make a living or a difference in the world. That taught me the lesson that if you are a good genuine person trying to make a difference then you will start meeting similar people, and that is what can create an environment for you and others around you to grow and help each other succeed.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a very caring serial entrepreneur interested in making a difference in all that I do. I have worked many jobs in my career that have led me to this path. I have had jobs where I didn’t feel fulfilled, because I didn’t really believe I was making a difference. Or jobs where I was so busy that I couldn’t make a difference in my own family or personal life. Eventually I hit rock bottom with a job that was for a business run by dishonest and selfish people. So ever since then I committed to owning businesses that make a positive impact on peoples lives. I started small with a Home service company called Home Curb Appeal. I thought if I could make someone’s day a little better by helping them get a task done to make their home more complete than I would be making a difference. After doing that for some years I committed to an even bigger cause in my opinion and that was to help companies phase out single-use plastic use. So I helped found Būmi, a company dedicated to doing just that. We have met many challenges along the way but we learn from them and try to improve. I have learned so many things running these different companies. Probably most important is I learned that I can make a difference. It takes a lot of learning in order to run a business but if you work with others with honest interest of everyone benefitting; then there is a lot of good to be passed around. I want the world to know that at Būmi we are dedicated to making a difference. We want the world to know what difference they can make to help our environment, businesses, and communities thrive on a world with less plastic. We are committed to making real change and want everyone to be more educated on the alternative consumer choices available regarding single-use plastic items.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a best friend was visiting for a week we would do a lot of fun things outdoors. I think we would likely spend a few days at Lake Powell, Flaming Gorge, or other beautiful lakes for swimming and other fun water activities. We would spend time hiking a few mountains and on those hikes we would have great conversations catching up or talking about the future. We would do some campfires and have deep discussions and good camp food. We would spend time together going to church or other religious activities. I feel as though it would be a perfect week if we were out in nature for the majority of the time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had many mentors in my story! It all started with my family. My dad and brothers are the hardest workers I have ever known and I have always wanted to be like them. They work very hard and that led to them finding their own success and motivating me to find my own. They have also started businesses and worked multiple jobs to be the most dedicated and influential people in my life. Kamden LaHargoue was someone who really helped me at a time that I needed to make the leap of faith into Entrepreneurship. He helped me see risk in a new light allowing me to allow myself to pursue my own dreams. Shane is someone who helped me in a practical way. He helped me know how to work on my own business and taught me simple things like pricing my service, and how to get the job done right. Ross Chiles has helped me an extreme amount. He has taught me how to be fearless while also being a team player. You cannot do it alone and he taught me how to bring in the right people to make everyone have opportunity for success. He is also currently teaching me more about how I can connect with and help others. Above all the person who has helped me the most is my wife Abby. She has supported my decision making and helped me through all the long hours of hard work, stress, confusion, and learning that comes from being an entrepreneur. All of these people and many more have developed me to who I am personally and professionally, I am forever grateful for their current and future impact on my life.
