Meet Itsel Obadiah | Travel Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Itsel Obadiah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Itsel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always enjoyed traveling and seeing new cultures. I was invited to become a travel agent where my goal was to help others enjoy and save money on their trips . So my passion was going to become my work, my side job for now at least. I am so enthusiastic about it! Doing something that I enjoy is definitely my goal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am definitely excited about helping as many people as possible to travel on a friendly budget. We all know how hard it is to travel while gas prices are going up and jobs are paying less. My job as a travel agent is to accommodate my clients so that they can enjoy their vacation time stress free. It was definitely not easy starting out, but with the help of friends and family I have managed to overcome challenges. I’ve learned that you have to stand up for yourself and don’t let people run over you. You have to value your time and yourself as well. I want people to know that even though things may seem easy they’re not, but that’s why I am here to help them find the best trips of their life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in Dallas, Tx are going to eat at Ichigoh Ramen or Sunset Crab Shack, drinks at the Bowen House or hang out at coffee shops like La La Land Cafe, or White Rhino Coffee. Some interesting places to check out is the AT&T Discovery District and Bishop Arts area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my husband Josh and my parents for always being there for me when I choose to jump on something new. They share the same passion for travel and for expanding horizons you could say. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my parents, and I wouldn’t be jumping on something new if it wasn’t for my husbands help.
