Meet Iveth Muniz | Wedding & Travel Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Iveth Muniz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Iveth, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been drawn to art- it’s just part of who I am. I used to take my coloring books to friend’s homes as a kid, spend hours scrapbooking, I was the one who always had a camera on hand at every event, and I always signed up for art classes in school. For the longest time, I didn’t want to turn it into a career because I was scared it might take the fun out of it. But honestly the opposite happened. Now, I get to have fun doing what I love, and how many people can say that about their job?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m all about capturing stories with a focus on emotional detail. Since I love the outdoors, I guide my clients to hidden gems or lesser-known locations, ensuring they get the full Colorado experience surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where they can feel comfortable and truly be themselves in front of the camera.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. I’m naturally a shy person, and putting myself out there in such a personal, creative industry was a challenge. There are moments of self doubt, especially when I compare myself to others. But I’ve learned to stay true to my own style and trust that the right people will connect with my work.
I’ve learned to never give up, embrace imperfection, and stay consistent, even during slow periods. This field is all about staying focused on improving my craft and understanding that every season has it’s ups and downs. The slower months are opportunities to recharge, refine my skills and grow as a photographer. I never want to feel like I’ve learned it all- there’s always room to improve, and my goal is to keep evolving to serve my clients better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start by taking them to Denver and having breakfast at Snooze then showing them around Downtown and the Union Station followed by dinner at JINYA, they have some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. We would spend the rest of the week exploring some of Colorado’s best spots, starting with Red Rocks, then heading to Breckenridge and Vail. In Breckenridge, we would have to stop at Crepes A La Cart for a delicious treat, and in Vail, we’d stroll through the charming Vail village. Id make sure to include a visit to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood and maybe even stay the night to fully relax. To wrap up the week, we’d visit Rocky Mountain National Park and hike to Dream Lake for it’s stunning views. Our final stop would be Boulder to hike around Chautauqua park and walk around Pearl St.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been my biggest supporter from the beginning. Not only does he always encourage me, but he’s also an essential part of my team-helping me second shoot weddings and taking on the role of videographer. He’s always been my cheerleader, pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and believe in myself, especially when I feel unsure about taking on a project. Being naturally a shy person, there are times I doubt my abilities, but his encouragement always gives me the confidence I need. I truly don’t think I would have pursued this dream of mine without his love, support and willingness to be right there by my side.
