We had the good fortune of connecting with Izzy Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Izzy, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Starting a business in the travel industry, helped me realize that using a travel agent to book any of your travel needs is completely FREE. This can sound kind of crazy, but what companies don’t show you is that there is a commission already built into their prices. So by using a travel agent, you get a personalized experience and you’re helping out a small business instead, at no extra cost.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created my business -Izzy World Travels- in search of providing excellent customer service, while helping others make their dream travel become a reality. I feel the same excitement when planning their trip, almost as if I’m going with them! My tagline is “Ignite your wanderlust” and that’s exactly what I aim to do for my clients.

Life can be stressful and sometimes unforgiving, but I’m convinced that you will never regret spending on an amazing trip, because at the end of our life journey; the only thing we’ll be left with, are the memories & experiences lived. I see travel as an invesment in yourself.

I believe that being both an American/Latina women, allows me to cater to a wider demographic, being 100% Bilingual and my previous travel & teaching background gives me that extra sparkle to set myself apart from others.

I’m excited to witness my own personal growth and the professional growth of my business. To see it start off as a simple idea and blossom into something that makes me feel happy to wake up to every morning, is very reassuring.

Truly pushing yourself is never an easy task, but once you surround yourself with people of similar positive mindset; the challenges to overcome will be the same; however, it does help see your goals much more attainable. I’ve learned that having your own business forces you to hold yourself accountable and be much more disciplined than I ever was when I worked for an employer.

Izzy World Travels might still be a “small” business but definitely full of passion & desire to be that helping hand for people to check wild travel adventures off their bucketlist.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like to enjoy a bit of everything to get to know an area well. So to begin, I love to make sure someone new in town (in any town) gets the chance to have an amazing view of the city. A great hang out spot is 54thirty- a rooftop bar with a gorgeous view of both city and natural accents Denver has to offer. This makes a wonderful choice to enjoy a small bite, with drinks and a relaxed ambience.

The following day I would take them to see truly unique and quirky places such as The church of Cannabis, visit the art museum Meow Wolf|Convergence Station & do a foodie/Craft beer tour to enjoy various menu highlights samples like wood-fired pizza, Colorado pork green chili and more.

After enjoying a couple of days in the city, visiting a natural park is a must-such as Rocky Mountains National Park. But, on the way there, if we have a movie fanatic among us, a stop by Estes Park, hometown of the Stanley hotel where The Shining was shot, is a great site to visit. After that, rejoicing in the natural beauty of the rocky mountains is a great way to have a bit of adventure, hiking and ziplinging to finally whine down and end the week, taking in the breathtaking views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to the organization that not only allowed me to become a travel agent, but mentor others in starting their own businesses as well which is Archer Travel & Evolution. They provided an opportunity that I desperately needed. I honestly was searching for something to light a fire again within me, and this gave me a reason to focus on myself 100% while helping others too.
