We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie DeLuccio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what do you want your legacy to be?
I would love to be remembered for my tenacity with breaking family patterns, for being perfectly imperfect, for really seeing others and guiding them towards deep transformation and profound positive change, for the heart and authenticity I put into all I do. I hope to be remembered as someone people feel emotionally safe with and know that I will walk through the dark with them.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Besides being a yoga teacher for over 16 years I am also a Somatic Life Coach and an Astrologer. Often I combine all three while teaching yoga. I call myself an Intuitive Astrology Coach. I love to do Astrology Readings for people and feel strongly that this is a true purpose of mine.
I still have not tired of teaching yoga! I will never forget the day I got my yoga teacher certification. It was that same day that I walked into the local recreation center and asked the manager if they wanted a yoga teacher. She replied with, “When can you start?” I shrugged my shoulders and confidently said, “Tomorrow!” With in a week I out grew the room and had to expand. That was the beginning of Open Sky Yoga and my motto Love Who You Are! I fell in love with sharing this amazing practice with the community. Building a community of yogis has been one of the most fulfilling work I have ever done. As a Virgo I love being of service to others. So as time went on I wanted to introduce other modalities of healing to the community. I became an astrologer and a Somatic Life Coach to help guide people back hOMe! Astrology is a beautiful tool to teach self acceptance and help people to really have a more intimate relationship with themselves. Somatic work teaches people to feel all the feels in a safe place. Feeling is the way to healing. This is a path I myself have had to take to get through some of my own trauma.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well we would start with a mountain bike ride on my local trail the TiHack and then summit a local mountain. Then we would head to The Great Sand Dunes for some exploring. After that we would continue south to have lunch in New Mexico at Cafe Pasquale’s and stay a couple nights at Sunrise Springs. While there we would take a day trip to Meow Wolf for some good old fashioned weird fun. After That we would go to Sedona and do some hikes all around there or MTB if we could do a quick trip to Tucson that would be lovely as well! On the way back home we would hit all the hot springs star gazing and contemplating all the wildness of the universe! Heck, we mine as well build a camp fire and dance under the moonlight while howling like wolves!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shout out to my husband who has always had my back, for always believing in me and the work I do, for always making it possible for me to grow, learn and do what I love and for showing me what unconditional love is all about. Thank you to ALL of my teachers but especially Debra Silverman and Shannon Paige. I am so grateful for the wisdom you share!
