We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Chavira and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, why did you pursue a creative career?
My family. My grandparents used to put me and my older brother to sing while my grandpa played the guitar, I didn’t like it at that time but i started to loved it down the road

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, it wasn’t easy to get here where I am, I’m still trying to get way more accomplished. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I have been resilient, dedicated and the love I have on the things I do, the way I write my songs that come out of my own life experiences and the way I perform when I sing them, since its something I felt on the past, Its not that hard to put my heart on it. The hardest part of doing this is being away from my family, I do it all for them, and I try to be successful to provide a better life for all of them. I left my house at a small age and haven’t been able to get back together with them since then. I have learned that you need a purpose to continue strong and overcome every obstacle on the road. i believe in being yourself with the good and bad in you, being you, being authentic is key in every aspect of your life as well with the creativity. I would like the work to know about me and what I do so I can put my grain of sand and make it better with my music, to inspire people like I have been inspired by the people I admire. And im working to get to that point.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would show them the outdoors, the lookout, the trails in boulder, the hot springs in steamboat, and steamboat itself is great. The incline in Colorado Springs, the bars in downtown, we could go eat at Cilantros, Machetes, El Rey, Fogo di Chao, Benihana. the rapids stadium and the rockies too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends, and the people that had haved believed in me
