We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayme Greenfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jayme, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I have always been a people person! I love being around family and friends and enjoy meeting new people. I have a kind heart and love to make others happy! I treat all of our couples at our wedding venue with that kindness and help and encourage them and pray for them during their wedding planning and on their wedding day! They really appreciate the working relationship I have with them!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career in the wedding industry started 10 years ago with a dream of owning a wedding venue. The desire to serve couples and give them a beautiful place to begin their lives together was my goal. It took several years of finding the right property, deciding on the structure we would build, writing a business plan, and obtaining financing. We faced many challenges with building, bad weather, paperwork, etc. My husband and I were both working full time jobs while building our barn. He was the general contractor and we worked every night and weekend until the venue hosted our first wedding!
I feel I have learned so much with every wedding we host.
Our second season of weddings was hit with COVID and a lot of couples cancelled their wedding. We refunded every couple, in full. It is what my heart told me to do. We lost 20 weddings. But we survived.
At our venue, couples are treated like friends and not just a business agreement. We talk about their lives, how they got engaged. I have a good relationship with them. I answer emails within an hour and am always available to help.
I want the world to know that I am a believer. That dreams can come true when you trust God and work hard!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to town, I will take her to my favorite coffee shop, The View. They have a great gift store as well so we would shop. We would go to the Arkansas river and hike along the bridge to bridge trail. We would shop downtown. I would take her to The Village, Trailhead and CKS. There is a great little antique shop called Rustic Woods. We would eat lunch somewhere different every day! Simple Eatery, Eddyline, Sorelle’s, Jade Garden. Buena Vista offers great trails for hiking and 4 wheeling so we would definitely do that! Horseback riding and spending time at the hot springs! Evening would be spent around a campfire looking at the gorgeous mountains!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m thankful to God for bringing my dream to a reality and to my husband, Jim who has supported me in every way and our kids, their spouses and our grandkids!
