We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayme Holcombe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayme, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a better place for clinicians to work, more flexibility and loyalty. I also wanted to make things easier for clinicians in the ever burnout world of healthcare. Further, I wanted to create a better quality of care program for patients that would otherwise not receive care. My family has experienced the difficulty of not getting the care needed in rural Georgia and Virginia, so my heart and passion truly goes to the rural areas for this reason. Starting a staffing company just made sense to me. It felt like it was what I was meant to do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting into medical school was not easy for me. I have always been one to study A LOT to make good grades; standardized tests were my nemesis. However, I graduated DPT school in 2009 and have since had experience in outpatient, inpatient acute care, ICU trauma, inpatient skilled nursing and home health. My entrepreneurial spirit started to bubble to the surface in 2017, when I began looking for companies to acquire or start up. My husband is in VC work in the M&A world, so I had his knowledge, support and experience to coach me along the way to make the best decisions possible. In 2018, I met a franchise owner for a staffing company at an APTA event and fell in love with the idea of a franchise opportunity, mainly for the technology included. The technology is an app similar to Uber or Lyft, but for medical staffing. It had everything I ever needed in my years of healthcare in one application! I quickly learned the challenges of a being a franchisee and a start up business owner, working 80hours a week and not paying myself for years. In February of 2023, I acquired the technology and stepped away from the franchise. Today, I am the sole owner of both the technology software and the staffing company! I could not be happier!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a best friend visit who had never been to Colorado, I would first take them on a hike to the Chautauqua Park in Boulder, followed by brunch at Lucille’s in Erie. I would then take them to Summit County, showing them the beautiful mountain views along I-70. I’d take them to the Nordic Center in Frisco for cross country skiing, then dinner in downtown Breckenridge. I would have a place for us to stay nearby to ski/snowboard the following morning in Breck or Keystone.

During the mud or summer seasons, I would take them on a road bike ride from Vail Pass to Lake Dillon, in place of cross country skiing or downhill snowboarding.

People in this area work to live, not live to work. My goal would be to show visitors this amazing culture!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have always had a passion for the medical field and helping others in need. However, I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the support and love of my family and most of all God, who lead me to this path in life. I am a very spiritual individual who trusts in Gods plan, believing that all things happen for a reason for the paths that have been paved for us. I feel very fortunate to have the support that I have in this life from those around me.
