Meet Jen Hubler | Hospitality Professional & Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Hubler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Memorable Experiences was born out of a passion for bringing people together and creating experiences, and just loving fabulous service at wonderful restaurants and hotels. For years I worked for a restaurant brand in Steamboat Springs training Hospitality on large and small scales. I became fascinated with the impact of small interactions and connecting with guests. This passion and excitement lead to the idea of a podcast where Restauranteurs, General Managers, and other Hospitality Professionals can come together and learn from each other. I really believe that creating an incredible experience for guests through impeccable service and connecting with people is one of the best ways you can impact your bottom line. The podcast has grown substantially, and my husband, Jeff and I have begun consulting too. We have a Front of the House online course that is close to launching.
My Real Estate business is an extension of my love for hospitality. I love living in Steamboat, and sharing this community brings me so much joy. I love helping people fulfill their life long dream of owning property in Routt County. I don’t know if I would love Real Estate as much as I do here, anywhere else.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Memorable Experiences is a people-passionate brand. We are a place for Hospitality Professionals to come together and learn from each other, inspire each other, and lift one another up. We want to give every Restauranteur, GM, Hospitality professional a space where they have resources to learn about what it takes to create success in this competitive (but fun and rewarding) industry. You can tune into our podcast for lots of free advice. We work with restaurants one on one and offer various consulting options – we can help you with hospitality training, but also business planning, help streamline your kitchen, etc. We’re a one stop shop for upper level restaurant hospitality professionals who are looking to grow their businesses. We believe that restaurants are a place for people to spend time together, and that one of the most compelling ways to keep people coming back is by connecting with your guests.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Steamboat is so dreamy! This is a very seasonally dependent question. As we role into the winter months, we would absolutely have to hit the slopes and get in some skiing. We would have to go to Strawberry Park Hot Springs and relax in one of the most beautiful, natural springs in Colorado. Going to The Laundry or Besame for dinner is always a must, too. If there is a Varsity Hockey game, that is always a good time – Steamboat packs the rink for those games! Any activities at Howelsen Hill – fireworks, etc. – or Torchlight Parades at the Resort – are fun too. Around Music Fest, live Country Music is always at the top of my list.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My love and passion for Hospitality is 100% because of Rex Brice and the time I spent working with the Steamboat Restaurant Group. Rex taught me to see hospitality as an opportunity to bring joy to people in the most basic way of connecting with them and making them feel at home, wherever they are. You never know what someone is going through, or what it took them to get where they are in that moment. Offering a smile and asking about someones day is the easiest way to authentically bring joy. Pair connecting with great food and a fun atmosphere, and you have a recipe for success.
I have watched my Aunt and Mom in Real Estate in Cambridge, MA for most of my life. They expertly problem solve and help resolve difficult situations with finesse. After my sister began in Real Estate in the DC Area, I knew it was my place too. We have so much fun swapping stories and leaning on each other for advice. It was meant to be.
