We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Handloff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Inner Seasons Wellness is the new identity for my ongoing work in women’s health and menstrual awareness., stemming from 6 years as an apothecary owner and witnessing the deep interest women have to regain the power over their hormones and reproductive systems. I have dreamt of engaging with women about our seasonal lives for many years and as I listened to the voices of women in my community, those coming into my shop asking for help, I knew this dream was living and breathing and needed to be tended to!

Inner Seasons Wellness Is a company devoted to body literacy and cyclical living education that is designed to promote body autonomy, and encourage women to awaken to their own innate wisdom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My passion for education, both educating others and the education I seek, lies in making women’s biological information available, creating spaces that celebrate uniqueness, and helping women create loving relationships with their bodies.

This is not only a vision for a more attuned woman in society, but for our young girls as they grow and mature into women.

As an herbalist I weave plant support and folklore into my practice because adding an element of the natural world enhances one’s connection to self. My clients share wonderful feedback as so many of them have not yet experienced the support of plants.

The lesson that I continue to learn as a women entrepreneur is that letting things go – closures, cancellations, career changes – is difficult and demanding and can feel like failure, but it always, ALWAYS makes space for new development and opportunities.
I am in this line of work here, now, because I laid certain things to rest. Not an easy task foe creative minds, but has made the work I do so much more potent.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visit my area, Steamboat Springs, I would make sure we hit Strawberry Park Hot Springs, brunch at Yampa Valley Kitchen and Happy Hour at Besame. A walk along the core trail, and a stop at each of the historic springs downtown.
Let’s catch the Free Concert Series in the summer! A tube down the Yampa River and some evening strolling along Lincoln Ave.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Well School of Body Literacy, Sarah Bly
This two year program has enlightened my world and helped me find my voice in activism towards a better future for our women and girls.

I also want to thank all of the women of my community who supported me as the owner of Aspen Botanicals Apothecary and in expanding my work in Fertility Awareness.
