We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna McGivern and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I come from a family with an entreprenurial mindset, having had my parents start their own business when they were 26 years old. I was inspired by them and the flexibility it gives you, setting your own hours and being able to live a more free lifestyle then working a traditional 9-5 job. I am able to enjoy spending time with family, friends and doing the things I love.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bliss Massage Therapy was formed with the intention to provide professional massage services that relax, rejuvenate and renew in a safe space while forming more personal relationships with my clients versus a larger corporate spa. I want my clients to feel at home when they’re in my space which leads to a deeper level of healing. Growing a business is not easy, especially opening my doors a month before a global pandemic, but I kept pushing to achieve my dream of owning my own massage business. Multiple side gigs and almost three years later, I”m proud to keep providing therapeautic massage to my community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many beautiful places in Colorado but I woul definitely recomend Green Mountain for a moderate hike in Boulder, After you can grab a drink on Avanti’s patio, which has beautiful views of the flatirons. All the food is delicious, but I’d recomend New Yorkee’s for an awesome new york style pizza. In Longmont you can take a walk and explore the different shops up and down Main Street for gifts and clothes. Not too far off the beaten path I’d recomend the GTO Taco Food Truck for the best authentic tacos just south down Main Street. Catch a show at The Velvet Elk in Boulder, a funky music and cocktail bar that hosts traveling and local acts in a more intimate setting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to say thank you to Deirdre Wood Taylor of Porchlight Real Estate Group in Longmont for being a friend, encouraging me, and connecting me with opportunities in the community.
