We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Icabone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenny, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the top most important factors behind our success is our consistent customer service. Both my husband and I had previously worked in restaurants for a number of years, and continuing that mind set of making sure the customer is always happy has been a staple in our business from day one. We started with zero customers and over time we have created quite a customer base and I truly believe our customer service is a huge factor in our success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m not sure anything sets me apart from others. I never imagined I would own a printing business that’s for sure, I went to school for Sociology I was on a completely different path until my husband, my boyfriend at the time, approached me and introduced the idea. We overcome many challenges over the years. Working with a spouse, starting out with no customers or money. Both my husband and I worked second jobs for years to make ends meet. Working many late nights and then waking up early to open the business.
Lessons that I’ve learned over the years, get a good accountant right away, don’t over spend, stay humble and treat everyone customer in front of you as your only customer.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would bring them to the Art Museum or the Theater. If it’s warmer out I would plan an show at Red Rocks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father in law Ted has been a huge help with our business, we couldn’t have done it without him. His patience, expertise and unwavering dedication to Access Printing is above and beyond.
