We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Murdock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success would have to be family and friends. Without them and their support I would not be successful. As I received new clients each and every one, I got to know, helping them and talking to them about what they need, what insurance to have to cover all they have, and getting to know them, I became friends with them as well. This is how I built majority of my business, with referrals of their friends and family.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an insurance broker with JSH Insurance Solutions. I strive to be more than just an insurance broker, I want everyone to gain knowledge about insurance and what they need as well as know that for questions, changes, claims, everything, I am the one that they call. Being able to connect to people and helping them with what they need and making the insurance process easy, is why I stand out. I listen and care and help make sure that you get the best solutions for their insurance needs, I am reliable and will always do my best to help them.
The most challenging thing has been getting my name out there. I have found that some of the recommended ways to build this business isn’t only has simple as knowing the right people. I was taught to find mortgage brokers and realtors etc. They are crucial to building insurance business but to truly stand out passed just them, you have to be true to your word, you have to do things for community and help people and show them why it is you stand out. Go passed the recommended and just build the relationships based off how you help and continue to help them, and it will show in your business success. Finding out my strengths and weaknesses and using that to help me achieve has been one of the most important factors. Knowing what makes me who I am. This helped me build relationships with clients and with assets that are in the position to recommend your services and you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take them to my favorite things, to hike in the mountains, see a sporting event at the Pepsi center, or to just stroll down by Confluence Park. We would definitely have to eat at Lucile’s for breakfast. But ultimately showing her the view of Colorado would be the number one thing. I would have to bring them to the View House Ballpark or Peaks Lounge to enjoy good food and amazing view.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout Amanda Harcourt, she’s an amazing person, friend, and realtor. She’s always been so supportive and helping each other has been truly wonderful.
I would also like to shoutout my husband. Without his love and encouragement and help in so many ways, I would not be able to be successful.
