We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Callan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As the owner of Petit Parker, I chose a career in the creative arts because it allows me to express my passion for design and creativity. My journey began as a fashion designer in New York City, where I spent 20 years honing my skills, particularly in children’s fashion. I was drawn to this niche because it is so imaginative. This aspect of kids’ fashion resonated deeply with me, as it allows me to be creative while also allowing me to connect with the community on a personal level.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What Sets Petit Parker Apart
I believe it’s the personal touches that truly distinguish Petit Parker from other children’s boutiques. I invest a lot of myself into every aspect of the store. Drawing on my background in design, I find creative expression not only in selecting products but also in crafting the store’s environment. My daily goal is to ensure that every visitor leaves with a smile.

My Journey in Design
My creative journey began early, influenced by my grandmother and mother, both talented artists. I pursued fashion and merchandising in college, which led me to start my professional career in fashion design in New York. After rising through the ranks to become a Design Director, I sought more independence to showcase my design skills, which led me to opening my first store. Working in New York was challenging, but it was invaluable. The most important lesson I learned was perseverance, which I applied every day. While some days can be overwhelming, I now cherish every moment.

The Dream of Petit Parker
I’ve always dreamed of creating Petit Parker, and I hope that my passion for design is evident in every detail. I would love for the world to see the love and dedication that goes into making this boutique a special place for parents and children alike.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My first stop would of course be to visit Parker’s vibrant downtown, with the amazing shops, restaurants, history and culture. Next I would be sure to include some outdoor activities. It is so beautiful in Colorado in general-that spending some time outdoors is a must. And that goes for winter and summer!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to all the wonderful customers that have supported me throughout the years.
