We had the good fortune of connecting with Delia & Enoch MoLeisureXventures and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Delia & Enoch, how do you think about risk?
You never know what will happen if you don’t take risks. In November 2019, my partner and I took a huge risk to changes our lives. We quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and set off on a trip of a lifetime. We both were working 9-5 jobs, living in a city where rent took half of our salaries. We decided we didn’t want to live this mundane life anymore, we wanted to be free. We wanted to travel full-time and visit all of the National Parks in the US. So we took a leap of faith and chose happiness over stable societal norms. Our vehicle became our home and nature became our backyards. We no longer had rent to pay as boondocked every night. We were able to save money and see the world at the same time.
If we had never taken this risk, we would never have visited 52/62 National Parks, driven through 46/50 states, and met so many like-minded people in the past two years. We have also inspired a lot of people to take the risk of leaving a stable environment and testing the instability of full-time travel. Every day is something new, which is why we continue to live this life and will continue until we finish all of the National Parks. After that is an even bigger adventure!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are full-time overlanders. In November 2019, we quit our jobs, sold all of our belongings, and embarked on this trip to visit all of the National Parks in the US. It wasn’t easy to leave the stable, comfortable lives we had, but it was necessary for us to seek happiness outside of it. It’s not easy. living on the road. We sleep in a rooftop tent, so 4 solid walls and running water are foreign to us. Living this lifestyle has made us appreciate everything we use to have more but we also appreciate all of the beauty of nature around us. In the past 2 years, we’ve driven through 46/50 states, visited 52/62 National Parks, and put 80,000 miles on our odometer. A lot of people ask us for tips and tricks on how they can achieve a similar lifestyle. We always say, you just have to let go of everything. It’s definitely easier said than done, but if you don’t take the risk, you’ll never know what the outcome could be.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to give a shout-out to the general overland and offroad community that we’ve met on the road. Specifically, all Nissan Xterra/Frontier owners. They have been some of our biggest supporters and we’ve bonded with so many of them over our love for our underrated vehicles. And we can’t forget the solid base of family and friends that have supported us since the beginning.
