We had the good fortune of connecting with Jillian Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jillian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At first my of began as an outlet to get out all of the thoughts in my head. It was a way to get away from just being a mom. There is so much more to me than just that. Then as I hit my stride, I was able to begin making money. It was a light bulb moment. A moment where I realized I could make money from doing something that I love, writing and encouraging other moms around me.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Being a blogger hasn’t always been smooth. I thought I had to be all things to all people. It was over a lot of time that I realized I needed to hone in on what I know and love best, being a mom, in all aspects of that! I don’t just write about being a mom, but also things moms would love, and even mental health which many moms deal with. I am huge on encouragement and loving moms wherever they are at!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of all, Greeley is one of the most unique and eclectic cities I’ve ever lived in. I love it here! When my friends come to town, we have to have coffee. Some of the best coffee shops are here. Some of my favorites are the Human Bean,
Zoe’s (which our church, Christ Community, owns), Margie’s, and Continuum. I also love taking my girlfriends shopping here. My favorite clothing shops that are locally owned are Blush Boutique and Charlie and Co Market. I of course love taking my friends to my church, Christ Community. I love the heartbeat of our church, which is loving others in the name of Jesus. I might also take my friends to some of my favorite places to eat and drink that you won’t find anywhere else, like Weldworks, Luna’s, or my favorite speakeasy called the Kress.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband was the one who encouraged me to start writing. He got me my own computer, set up my original site, and came up with the name, ask the instamom. He has always been my biggest supporter!
