Meet Madeline Pappas

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madeline Pappas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madeline, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started my business, I was working a job that wasn’t fulfilling me. Being a nail tech gave me a way to express my creativity and connect with like minded women. Im passionate about helping women feel beautiful about themselves and Nails is my avenue to do that. I figured I didn’t want to be in a job that drained me for the rest of my life so I decided to do something about it. I now live every day for myself and for my clients. I’ve dedicated countless hours and tears to create a room and environment that reflects my heart for others

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing I am most excited about is empowering women. I truly believe I am in a very special position to welcome women of all different backgrounds into my room. I connect with women daily over shared experiences, shared hardships, tears, laughs, and all sorts of different conversation. I’ve walked with my clients through every season of life; marriage, babies, breakups, new jobs, moves, etc. I believe what i do is more than just nails, its helping women to feel their best and believe they’re worthy of luxuries in life, especially ones that help them feel beautiful
Truly, this path has been crazy, but its been formative and so fulfilling. I’ve worked 16-18 hour days for the majority of my career thus far, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This was never an option for me, I sort of just decided that this is what I was going to do, and i set off forward on the path God has laid for me. You hear of people saying they had to decide to show up every day in order to get where they are, but for me it was just inherent. I’ve done what I needed to to build my brand, my clientele, and my business just naturally.
I’ve been persistent in my pursuit of building this career because I want to be a beacon of light for others. I’ve faced many heartbreaks and hardships throughout the last 2.5 years, but through the grace of God, I’ve been able to pick myself back up and keep going forward. When I began in nail school, everyone in my life had something negative to say about it, but I didn’t let their doubt get in the way what I knew was right for me. Eventually, they came around and are so supportive of my clientele and business.
I’ve learned that I am the only person that I can rely on. I can’t wait for someone to come and save me and make me do the work. I am the one who has to take action and put in the work.
I want people to know that through faith, trust, obedience, and having a decided heart you can truly achieve anything you want. Giving it all to God and just having faith that everything will work out, will always pay off.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I would take her all over town. We’d start with Coffee down at Blue Sparrow off of Platte & 15th — their espresso & white chocolate raspberry sconces are to die for. Then, we’d head to Wash Park to walk in the 2.5 mile loop. Wash park feels like my home away from home. Its filled with people playing volleyball, gorgeous houses, tons of wild life, and an uninterrupted view of the mountains and downtown.
I’d make sure we visited the South Pearl farmers market, to have some delicious juice from Sweet Glow, and check out Sushi Den for a delicious, fresh Japanese meal.
For dinners, we’d absolutely go to Angelo’s Taverna off of 6th for their delicious oysters and house made pasta.
I’d take her to Red Rocks for a Concert or for a sunrise hike.
Denver is one of the most beautiful cities, and truly lives up to the phrase “A city within a park”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout Rachael Waggoner. She was my instructor / director in school, and now she is my mentor and dear friend. She’s shown me that through intentional, decided action, you can truly do anything. I am so grateful to walk with her and learn from her experiences.
The other person is God. Without God’s provision and protection, I would not be where I am today. I am truly blessed to be in this career and stewarding His blessings well. I get to let His love & light shine through me every single day.
