We had the good fortune of connecting with Joey-Lynn Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joey-Lynn, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The most important decision I made to contribute to the growth of my business was establishing great relationships with my customers and clients. Especially when it comes to weddings, I find it extremely beneficially to establish trust with the bride and groom. That way they can focus their attention on other details, and leave the designing up to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting any small business comes with plenty of struggles. Joey-Lynn, the owner of Remington’s Flowers & Co. started as a part time florist in high school. After 7 years, she out grew of her position and was ready to start a solo endeavor. The company name and logo came easily, as Joey has 4 golden retrievers working along side her almost every day. Remington’s started small in an outdoor shed. With the help of loyal customers and relationships built in years past, we quickly grew and opened a storefront in 2020 right as the pandemic was starting. The saying is true, hard work pays off. Despite the set backs, Remington’s had a very successful first year of business and has continued to grow at a substantial rate.

What sets Remington’s apart from other floral companies is our extensive variety of wedding styles. From bright and bold, to boho chic, or anything in between. No matter the vision a bride comes in with, we will go above and beyond to exceed their expectations. We pride ourselves on the countless hours spent perfecting each and every wedding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Coming from a very small town, entertainment options were lacking. After expanding into the Milwaukee area, we have a new found love for the city. From the worlds largest music festival, to endless restaurant choices, and a beautiful lakefront, there is always something new and excited to do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to all of the amazing wedding vendors I work with on a weekly basis, my brides who always keep my creative mind flowing, and my friends, family and dogs.
