Meet Jordan Namuth | CO-Owner and CEO of Outy Obsession

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Namuth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our passion lives in the outdoors, but not just as hunters, or fishermen, our passion like others is shared as a variety of different lifestyles. What drives you to the outdoors? That is the question that surrounds our brand. Whether, that answer lies deep in the Rockies, engulfed by silence, with nothing but the calm wind through the Pine trees and fresh powder underneath your board, or the darkness of the duck blind as first light slowly starts to show itself, the minutes counting down in your head until shooting time as mallards start to dump into your decoys. Maybe, it’s twenty-foot-deep right off the coast, the salty air pressing against your skin, patiently waiting for the right swell to give you that last morning fix to ride back towards the sand. Maybe, it’s the sound of a broad head hitting its target, and the smile on your six-year old’s face as he finally gets the hang of his new bow and favorite birthday present. Whatever drives you, whatever passion it might be that keeps you going and keeps you motivated to pass your knowledge down to the next generation, that’s Outy Obsession! We set out not only to change the world, but to help the world remember the outdoors! To share these passions across the nation, to get more kid’s outdoors, introduce new experiences to everyone, and to motivate everyone to get up and Get Outy!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As far as art, we are all artist of some trait. I started out as a graphic designer, teaching myself the ins and outs of Adobe since I was senior in high school. That sent me to college where I gained most of me design knowledge and then after I graduated at Doane College in Crete, Ne. Than in 2012 my wife and daughter moved back to Western Nebraska where I got on with Cabela’s Inc. This is where my design career and my passion for the outdoors began. There I began creating ad pages for the branded magazine and instore signage. After years of experience, I started dabbling in photo and video shoots. As my passion grew so did my job title and I became a Senior Art Director traveling the country leading teams of videographers, photographers, and designers collaborating together and changing the way people looked at the outdoors. When Cabela’s sold to Bass Pro and they basically through their employees out on the street. I had to quickly figure out what I wanted to do and that was when the idea of Outy Obsession was born, but it took that push for me to go for it, No!!! It was not easy, its actually one of the scariest things I’ve done. Am I a millionaire, well not quite yet. Is that the Goal? I think being successful isn’t just about making a lot of money. To us being successful is creating a brand people LOVE, a brand people represent and live behind while building an empire in the outdoor industry! We just want to get in front of everyone to give us a chance. Our brand is for everyone, any age any passion, and to live behind the Outy brand means you have a passion for the Outdoors, and you are wanting to share it with others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We grew up in a town of seven hundred people, so the city is only visited from us every once in a while. We love the city life, to an extent. The downtown scene, the food and drinks, the lights, but If I absolutely had to choose My first choice is a BBQ surrounded by family and friends around a fire pit during a calm sunset with my feet in the sand and a beer in my hand.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Being a brand created by brothers that share the same passion, our recognition lies with our dad. He is literally he reason why our love for the outdoors exists.
