Meet Joseph Holub | Therapist and Full-time Encourager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joseph Holub and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joseph, how do you think about risk?
I am far less willing to take risks, than I used to be. People tend to have different levels of risk tolerance. While It is important to take calculated risks, slowing down and making thoughtful decisions is where I like to be.

What should our readers know about your business?
Healing can occur when we create a safe container for folks to face all parts of themselves, with the help of a trusted guide. Someone recently asked me about the primary goal of therapy. While I believe that all of us have our own individual intentions in therapy, I believe that the overarching goal is to cultivate a secure relationship with oneself, that can be shared with others. I know that sounds fluffy. But the truth is that you can see this transition for people who are doing good work on themselves. It’s beautiful.
My practice is a reflection of this belief.
In many ways, I feel like my professional development fits into the same ethos. Working in different environments and with a variety of different people has given me a wonderful opportunity to see the best ways that I can help clients get where they are trying to go. Practical and thoughtfully individuated approaches to success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a big fan of getting outside. Whether that’s heading up the El Dorado Canyon or taking the voyage up to Estes Park. Get outside. Fly fishing in some of the great pocket water in the Boulder area is a must. Eating at a variety of different locally owned restaurants will provide accents to the trip. My personal favorite is La Panda, in Longmont. Their Al Pastor tacos are outstanding.
How would we get there? Let’s hop on some motorcycles and get after it! The beautiful landscape can be enjoyed on two or four wheels. Lastly, make sure that you don’t miss out on the Diamond Lake Trailhead. It’s a gorgeous place to really experience Colorado.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The folks that I work with are the ones that deserve the affirmation. Their courage and desire for self-exploration are what inspires change and I am consistently amazed by them.
