We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Chiropractors are more than neck and back pain doctors. A true chiropractor is someone that educates their patients. That let’s them know why they feel the way that they do, how they got into this situation in the first place AND how to make better decisions and take care of their body’s and spines differently for the rest of their lives. We all have a giant computer that sits inside of our skull – the brain. It is in charge of every single thing that we do. The only thing attached to our brains is out spinal cord. From the spinal cord comes the nerves. They go to every single part of our entire body, therefore, if our spine is misaligned, our brain cannot communicate clearly with the remainder of our body.
Eventually, that will lead to pain BUT more importantly, it leads to lack of proper function in the body, lack or proper healing and sickness and disease.
This is how chiropractic changes and improves and can have an impact on all of society. If a human body can function at it’s highest potential, that leads to a happier society; one that thinks more clearly and makes better decisions all around.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In our office, our motto is “gentle and effective care for the entire family”. We work with patients that range from a few hours old to 90 decades of age. We love connecting with our community of all ages. One of our practice specialties is working with families, pregnant mothers and babies & children. Throughout my 10 year career as a chiropractor here in Arvada, I have been certified in a technique called the Webster technique. The focus is to align the spine and pelvis in the optimal positioning for baby and mama to have the most comfort during pregnancy, delivery and post partum.
Owning a business in any industry is not easy AND I think that if you love what you do (like I do), it makes the ride much more enjoyable and fun for everyone that you connect with. Our patients join a family when they come in and most of them stay a part of this family for many years.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a native to Colorado, that is a tough question. I grew up in the Littleton/Morrison area so my go to is Red Rocks. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the United States. And if you’re headed to Morrison, always stop in at the Morrison Inn! I love the environment of the smaller mountain towns both summer and winter and one of my go to’s is Lost Park by Jefferson Lake for some camping and hiking.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to many… First of all, my late husband, Kelly for always being by my side and supporting me. My parents for teaching me the value of hard work, my team, my coaches and TLC family for providing me with guidance and balance and the Arvada Community for coming along side of me.
