We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliet George and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliet, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The question I always asked myself was; how can I get paid doing what I love? It toke me a while to figure out that for me it has always been photography. I started doing photography 5 years ago. I didn’t own a camera so I always toke my picture on my iPhone. I was the many few that started with an iPhone rather then with a camera. So the transition was rough when I had the money to get my camera. I had never token a photography class or held a camera till I had saved up for one. I spent endless nights with the camera in my hand figuring out how to use it. I would always take time to learn new skills and looking up how to videos that showed me easy but number one tips that I was missing when I started doing photography. I had realized I had made so many mistakes as an amateur photographer and I had a lot to learn. My work has improve over the time that I’m proud of the many shots I’ve taken over this year alone. This year has been great for my small business despite the pandemic. I’m grateful for the many customers that have chosen me as there go to photographer and let me be my creative self with my work. Underthelibrasun would be nothing without the many small supporters that I have!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Denver local photographer that offers portrait, lifestyle, and styled set photography. What sets my work apart is that I’m always thinking of a way to make my work unique. Give the people something they’ve seen before but with a twist. I like to take two different ideas and make them come together creative what I call, magic. My style changes over time and I always like to keep my work up to date. I’m proud of the many projects I have created in the past and I am beyond exited to share with everyone the new creative styled sets i have in store. It wasn’t easy getting where I am today. It toke me a lot Of stress and also minor depression to get where I am at. What really got to me was the fact that there was a lot of competition in the industry that I am in. I viewed other people’s work and how they attracted a lot of people. But that wasn’t the only bump I had on the road to success. I worked with close friends/family that toke my work for granted. They didn’t help support or promote my work but only drained my energy to benefit themselves. Over time I picked myself up and realized I couldn’t just let people treat me and my work less then what I am worth. I had learned that not everyone who comes to you for your business come with good intentions or helping your grow and promote your work. People love to use others to help themselves and in my case I had a couple people do this to me. What everyone should know about me is no matter how hard this gets for me I’m not a quitter. I get knocked down a couple times but I always get back up on my feet and try again. If you keep letting things get in between you and your dreams you will never be successful. You are in control of your own success so for your own sake take care of yourself and make yourself happy. You should always be your number one supporter and with that you’ll attract the energy you give. Underthelibrasun is all about self love and positive energy. I encourage everyone to do self love photography sessions for themselves because self love over anything!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver has a lot of sights to see, but these are my go to’s for anyone that has never been. The first stop would had to start with the most important meal of the day, breakfast! There is a lot of amazing breakfast places in town but the one that makes me want to go back every single time is Delectable egg. They have the most delicious French toast I have ever had. There breakfast options are delicious and worth the visit for a good breakfast meal. After we have had the best breakfast in town, we head to the most beautiful place and must go to place in town, The Denver Botanical Gardens. When I tell you this place is beautiful I mean you have to be there to experience Mother Nature. They have a ton of beautiful flowers, plants, ponds, waterfalls you name it. It’s like multiple different gardens in one that it’ll take up the entire afternoon looking at every inch of the graders. Next stop would be the best overlook of the city, lookout mountain. Not only can you see the entire city, you can see the stars late at night sparkling so bright. This spot is perfect to see the sparkling lights of the city right underneath the sparkling sky, it’s honestly my go to spot when I want to take a break from life. The city is the place to be, that’s why the next stop would be Lower downtown Denver (LoDo). They have amazing local restaurants and nightlife that you can be at from morning till night time. Union station has amazing restaurants to check out. They have selections like snooze (breakfast eatery), the next door (American eatery), Stoic & Genuine (seafood) and so much more! And right down the street is 16th street mall. A lot of amazing shopping, restaurant, and adventurous things to do.

Staying the city, we have to
Check out Rino. Rino is known for the amazing artistic murals that a lot of amazing local artist have created. In every single building you will see an amazing pieces that artist created.

The city of Denver has a lot to offer for new comers but these are my go to
Places to take anyone who wants to

See the city of Denver. This has always been my home but with my photography I’ve had the opportunity to visit these amazing spot and I encourage to add all of the to your to do list when visiting the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Underthelibrasun couldn’t have made it withou blumenhaus. Blumenhaus has been the number one supporter since the birth of this small empire. Valen (blumen haus) has been the best friend could ask for. She has always helped me with any Business guidance and how to improve as a photographer. Anltner person I want to shout out I want to do is for all my fellow supporters that have been here rooting me on. Without the many commentary that I get on my work I would be able to push this small business further.
