We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Trammell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As a personal trainer, I specialize in corrective exercise and performance enhancement. Although I help people to lose weight, build muscle and improve their body composition, my greatest skill set is that I heal people through movement. I’m the person to see when physical therapy and orthopedic surgery has failed to serve someone’s long term goals of pain free movement and a higher quality of life. Sometimes, surgery is necessary and there are a lot of great physical therapists out there who have a comprehensive approach. However, this is the exception, not the rule. Even if it makes sense for someone to get a knee replacement, it will not re-wire the poor neuromuscular control that chewed up their knee to begin with. It is also common for patients to experience some benefits from physical therapy due to isolated strengthening and mobilization techniques used, but then find themselves in chronic pain or re-injured in the future due to a lack of integrating any new found strength and mobility into their everyday primal movement patterns. This is exactly where I come in. I use my expertise and decade plus experience to not only help people regain their confidence by improving the way they look, feel, and function, I empower them by showing them exactly where they are and giving them a precise roadmap to get to where they want to go using the Sharp Savage Curriculum.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sharp Savage Fitness isn’t just about getting people into shape or improving their performance in sports. It’s about healing people. We all have mental, physical, and emotional trauma. That trauma shows up in the way we move. Left untreated, this trauma robs us of our confidence, longevity, and quality of life. Sharp Savage Fitness goes far beyond personal training. I’ve been in tune with my purpose since I was a kid. Starting my own business and working though all the doubts and challenges that come along with entrepreneurship has always been challenging. However, I believe that if God puts something in your heart and you know your purpose, you have a duty to fulfill that purpose. I also believe that regardless of what your business entails, if you remember the golden rule which is to take care of people, you will thrive. To say the life of an entrepreneur is tough is an understatement but it is absolutely worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fort Collins is a beautiful city. One of the best features is that you’re so close to the mountains. You can go on a morning hike through horsetooth, enjoy boating or jet skiing on the reservoir in the afternoon, and head to the Still Whiskey Steaks for an incredible dining experience in the evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Along the way I have absolutely been blessed to have mentors, friends, and family members who have lifted me up and supported me along my journey. That being said, no one has ever inspired me more than my clients. I’ve been blessed throughout my career to always be working with clients who put the work in, remained consistent, and completely bought in to the Sharp Savage Curriculum and in the process changed their lives completely. I’ve trained a handful of individuals who have went on to become personal trainers themselves. Recently, while on vacationing in Colombia with a dear friend and longtime client turned personal trainer, I was able to witness him working with a stranger on an island boat tour. He took a man who struggled to walk due to years of compounded chronic knee pain and taught him how rebalance his body, instantly alleviating his pain and improving his movement. He did this all in about 15-20 minutes. It was one of the most spiritually enriching moments of my life. I can’t begin to express the depth of gratitude I feel for all of my clients who have not only conquered their own minds and bodies, but have gone on to help others do the same. At the end of the day, my clients are my greatest inspiration.
