We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalea Kulbe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kalea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Originally, I wanted to learn how to foot zone to help my family. Once I saw how much it was helping them and myself I knew I needed to share this modality of healing with anyone and everyone.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Foot Zone therapy is an alternative medicine method believed to correct and renew the entire body at a cellular level.
Within each person’s feet lie detailed and complex signal systems. This signal system is thought to be connected to every part of the human anatomy – the circulatory, lymphatic, nervous, skeletal, endocrine, digestive, respiratory, reproductive, and muscular systems, as well as the emotional and spiritual bodies. These signals are believed to run throughout our bodies, called Meridian Lines, especially to the extremities, the ears, hands and ESPECIALLY our feet. Extensive research has proven the feet to be very accurate in correlating the mapped reflex points to the systems of the body.
The knowledge of the reflexes on the feet and other extremities have been around for thousands of years. It has been used in many different societies, civilizations and countries in various different ways. Some of the earliest documentations date back to early BC. In more modern terminology, we might explain the foot zone as the body being a computer and the feet are like the keyboard. When we access the feet, we are accessing the body. Through this access as the Foot Zone practitioner, I am receiving notes both physically and emotionally of what maybe causing certain ailments.
I was born and raised in Worland, WY and moved to Colorado when I was 18. I attended the Art Institute of CO and graduated with a BA in Interior Design. I have been practicing interior design for the last 18 years! While I love design, it was not filling my cup how it used to. My heart and passion were just not in it any longer. Insert the total career change……foot zoning!! I knew when I was searching for a career change, I had to work with my hands, be creative, help people heal, spread love in the world, and connect with the intuitive side of myself.
I experienced my first foot zone in the small town of Worland, Wyoming with Vanessa Byrd in December of 2020 and instantly fell in love with the way I felt afterward. Wanting to continue receiving this treatment after returning to Colorado I got on Google to search for the closest practitioner. Low and behold there are ZERO options in Denver! My mind was blown!! I was able to connect with Vanessa Young in Grand Junction and as fate would have it she was starting classes to become a practitioner. She needed a 6th student and the classes could start. I felt as though my purpose and passion in life were FINALLY coming to fruition.
We were given a goal to complete 100 foot zones by the time we graduated. I exceeded that goal and pushed myself to complete over 125 zones. I have worked on people with neuropathy, poor circulation, diabetes, ADD, ADHD, autism, cancer, pregnant, infertility, back pain, blood pressure, head trauma, brain aneurism, just as a monthly tune up and more! I have worked on people from age 4 to 84. I love that I learn something new with every zone and that every time I zone there is something new.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had my best friend in town for a week here is some places we would go Town of Morrison. Maybe take a little hike to Red Rocks, eat and drink at Tap on the Rocks or Blue Cow. Shop at the local stores.
Downtown Littleton. Antique shopping, eat and drink at Smokin’ Fins, Melting Pot or Palenque.
Spa day…….Woodhouse spa in Littleton, or Salon Foushee
Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods, Broadmoor, Cheyenne Mtn. Zoo
Some other restaurants I love are Cafe Jordano, The Post, Angie’s and most any sushi or Pho.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to WeDoFeet Seminars and my instructor Vanessa for the expert training and tools to start this journey. My husband and two girls of course for supporting me, being my Guinea pigs, and my biggest fans. I also like to give myself a pat on the back for taking the leap and completely changing careers. For trusting my gut instinct to want to make a bigger impact on people during their healing journeys.
