We had the good fortune of connecting with Kali Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kali, what do you attribute your success to?
Stay true to your brand. If you’re constantly changing because you saw something sell or something popular online, That constant chase of others brands/styles/popular items will show in your company. People shop with you because they love your brand/style/story and it’s best to stay true to yourself instead of chasing waterfalls.

What should our readers know about your business?
I would say the journey has been a journey. With the economy, there is a lot of evaluating and understanding of not only where your business is going but also others in the industry. Being able to assess and analyze if we need to increase prices, run sales, or change our products. But also learn to appreciate and love every aspect of your work, because we tend to get lost in the numbers and compare ourselves too harshly.

What I tend to forget is that Palafoxia Beauty isn’t just pretty nail polish. It’s self-love and self-care. Because nail polish isn’t just an accessory, it’s a smile on your hands as you work and catch that glimpse of glitter while typing or picking something up. For some a beautiful color that may hide insecurities of skin/nail conditions, so that they may feel a little more comfortable and confident. It’s a form of art and expression when the world is dull and stressful. Nail polish is self-love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fort Collins is Colorados best kept secret. First off, start your day with Harbingers coffee. Their locally roasted coffee has such a smooth yet complex taste it leaves you grabbing a few bags of beans to bring home for more.

For activities I am a sucker for a good hike, I highly recommend Spring Canyon Park for a light breezy walk. Or Horsetooth Mountain for some amazing views of Fort Collins. Just sitting and watching the picturesque landscape and clouds drift by is surely a sight you’ll never forget.

As far as a good bite to eat, I don’t think can name just one. My top 3 favorite restaurants are: Youngs Café Vietnamese Restaurant (try the chef special, Luc-Lac Steak for a juicy and flavorful steak that leaves you on cloud nine), Mama Roni’s Pizza (with daily fresh made dough, sauce, and more, their pizza is perfection in its own), and lastly Pickle Barrel Deli (where you can get just about any sandwich you want to be made with high-quality ingredients and love, no seriously you can taste the love put into the artwork of sandwiches they make!)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My old roommate and friend David. David taught me to do what I love and showed me the hustle and motivation of starting a business from scratch. Going from a Chemist in San Diego to the owner of a CrossFit Gym, the passion and drive he had to make his dreams come true was inspiring.
