We had the good fortune of connecting with KAMEHOUSE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KAMEHOUSE, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To tell people in Japan how life in America is like.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
– Most of our videos are spoken in two languages; Japanese and English. – When we started the filming in April of 2020, our goal was to get positive feedbacks from our viewers.
– No, it was not easy. At first, I was uploading one video every week, but I would only get about 10 subscribers at most each week. I didn’t give up hope and I’ve been continuing for two years, which led me to an amount of 5,000 subscribers, with remarkable feedbacks.
– I learned to enjoy what I am doing more than the number of subscribers and viewers, and also to appreciate the cheerful comments and the feedbacks that people send us.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ll take them to the Grand Circle; Utah, Arizona. New Mexico, and Colorado. We’re going to explore many national parks and monuments from the beginning to the end. For this trip, the main point of this trip is to enjoy nature and the uniqueness of the scenery, more than eating and drinking. Over the course of the seven days, we can stay at the lodges and enjoy our food while we relax on the balcony with nature all around us.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For anyone that are in Japan having a hard time going out due to Covid, anyone planning to come to the U.S., anyone who likes to watch travel videos, and anyone who is seeking for new destinations and adventures.
