We had the good fortune of connecting with Kameisha Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kameisha, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Yes, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This quote means more and more to me as I get older. As I get older I can fully understand and feel this quote. That quote is powerful. We are reading God’s promises to us. God has told us that he has a plan for our life and it will be beautiful. Life is hard and this quote reminds me of God’s promises to me, that he will give me hope and a future. I have seen the hand of God move on my life and he is real, therefore, when times get tough I stand on God’s promise.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am proud of where I’ve come thus far. I am proud of the experience and knowledge I’ve gained throughout this journey. I am excited about the future. I am excited to see where God takes me and my firm. I am excited to see the lives I will help. I am excited that God has chosen me to be a servant and help his people.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
Honestly, when I started my law firm I had no idea about running a business. All I knew was that I was an attorney and I wanted to open my law firm. It was always a lifelong dream of mine and I opened my business in the midst of COVID in 2020. I prayed about it and God gave me my answer, so I stepped out on faith. That’s literally all I knew.

Just imagine starting a firm and not having any business knowledge and having to practice law at the same time. So, yes it was hard, but I learned through the process and I am still learning. The knowledge I’ve gained has been through trial and error and coaching.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
I’ve learned so many lessons and if I were to list them I’d be typing forever. The journey in entrepreneurship is full of lessons. The most important one I’ve learned is to get a coach early in the process. It took me getting a coach to see everything that’s needed to run not only a law firm but a business as well. If I knew about a coach when I opened my law firm I wouldn’t have made some of the mistakes I’ve made. I am an attorney. I went to law school and in law school they teach you have to practice law, but not how to run a business.
