We had the good fortune of connecting with Karla Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karla, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Perseverance has been key throughout my entire journey. Each time I thought about giving up but didn’t is when I really saw significant improvement and felt the most accomplished. That’s still the case and I’ll make sure to push through and overcome every obstacle as they come.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Digital marketing is one of the most important tools any business can have in today’s day and age. My business offers a variety of packages to help other businesses succeed within the field without having to worry about production and maintenance. KCH Company offers full social media services but what differs us from most individual social media managers or agencies is our flexibility to create content. Typically a social media expert can offer help with strategy, community management, and occasionally graphic design skills but KCH Company also offers photography, video, and web design services in addition to all other components of the field. Which makes it what most people call the “full package.”

I am most proud of the growth we’ve had since we officially became an LLC just over a year ago. From struggling to get clients, to now having a wait list of months in advance. Having said that, the road wasn’t easy. This past year had incredible hardships and I would’ve never been able to overcome them without my business partner who has been my rock since day one. Pili Langman is not only my role model but also the COO of the company.

I mentioned it before, but the way I overcome my challenges is with unconditional support and by having the most intense drive. I consider my passion a trait but also the reason I barely have a social life. I don’t think being a “workaholic” is a good thing because we all need balance – and that’s my biggest challenge currently. I am working on it.

Managing your own business is hard and a lot of people don’t know that there are businesses like mine that take the weight off of worrying about their social media outlook, audience, presence, community, content, and everything else. It is definitely an investment but one that can help tremendously in this world where an Instagram Profile has become a professional portfolio.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It honestly depends on the friend and what they enjoy doing but if it was one that is just up for anything, I would take them to:

– Cherry Creek and have margaritas at ‘Sol’ then shop around the awesome shops
– South Glenn Plaza to walk around that beautiful area while we eat ice cream from Heaven Creamery
– Broadway St to bar hop and have fun/party during the evenings
– Urban Putt and 1up arcade at Downtown or Top Golf to have a super fun/entertaining game day
– Lunch at Junction Food and Drinks in South Cherry Creek

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is always one of the hardest questions because I believe every single person I’ve been close with has contributed somehow. Definitely, my family and fiancé every time they encouraged me to keep going and believed in me even in my darkest mindsets.

My friends, teachers, and ex-coworkers have always been the best role models and cheerleaders. Honestly, the shoutout could be seven pages if I keep going.
