Meet Kelly Campbell | Co-founder/co-owner of Nurture + Entrepreneurial Business Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
TIME. The most valuable and non-renewal resource we have. My relationship with ‘time’ is my North Star. It guides how I embody my values of truth, vitality, and quality relationships. I budget my time, just as I do my energy, acknowledging I only have so much to give in a day, so I better spend it wisely and consciously. This brings hyper presence in each moment, producing effective and meaningful exchanges in business meetings, quality time with family and friends, and highly productive deep focus time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of my current project (celebrated 4 years this past May), Nurture, a WellCare marketplace located in Denver, Colorado. Nurture is Denver’s premier community-based WellCare marketplace, focused on self care offerings for everybody. With over 60 vetted beauty, mental/emotional/behavioral/spiritual therapists, body workers, retail shops, movement studios, recovery services, an organic cafe, and more! We are the first brick and mortar to offer such an abundance of services, all under one roof, valuing community, compassion, quality, and collaboration.

Nurture is a living expression of my previous areas of entrepreneurial pursuits in the hospitality/service, health and wellness, and retail industries. However I am not alone, I have two incredible business partners, and an ever broader collective of bright and innovative leaders/teammates that each uniquely contribute to making Nurture so special.

From ideation, to raising capital/funding, to construction/permitting, to provider recruitment, to the design, to programmatic development, to team development, and more, it’s been a long road! However, we’ve attracted a community of like-minded individuals who all share the same mission, and that fuels the momentum that carries us day in and day out, where our commitment to our mission only grows deeper over time.

Nurture has taught me the most about embodiment and honesty. It’s incredibly challenging to grow a business anchored in well-being when you are burnt out, under-nourished, sleep deprived, and unable to ground in the bigger picture. Starting a business and seeing it through takes guts, perseverance, and unparalleled devotion, but not without balance. I became a stronger leader when I fully embraced and become exactly what I am advocating for in terms of self care. I had to be honest with myself, my needs, my boundaries, and my capacity, and rewrite what productive looks and feels like.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Nurture, duh. From there we would head to where I reside in Boulder. We would race up Mt. Sanitas (for time of course, because exploring our max effort is my kind of fun), then dip in the Boulder creek. From there we would stroll to the Boulder Farmer’s Market and certainly get a scoop of ice cream from Best One Yet (because ice cream is good for the soul). After gathering the perfect picnic finds, we would head over to the Flatirons Vista for a picnic. I would cap the day at Portal Thermaculture for some sauna + ice, because everything is better with a little contrast therapy with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I surround myself with those living a life of purpose, devoted to their pursuits and passions, which highly influences my capacity to expand and evolve, in which I am incredibly grateful for… I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my son Remi. He keeps me honest, holds me accountable, and acts as my mirror and my sturdiest anchor.
